Hope he sweeps the classics this year, wins the tour since it’s already booked most likely, worlds, next year do nothing but all 3 grand tours just to do it and see, then 2028 cherry pick whatever he wants, does Olympics, wins a gold, then retires.    I hate to see him go but it would be epic.

I have to say also, so likeable. It must be easier to line up to each race when so few people dislike you.

I would like to see Pagachar attack Merckx's hour record on a merckx era bike!!

Dude is super human.....that race yesterday was sick......now he is winning sprints......

Comparing one generation of racing with another is, in my opinion, a fool's errand. Yes, Eddie Merckx was amazing with a seemingly unsustainable number of race days per year and wins. Up until 1961, the TDF was contested by National Teams. The switch to trade teams was very new in Merckx's prime, and the variance in professionalism was huge. The amount of investment into every variable today is expensive and intense.

The big match up at the Tour: Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogačar are both elite Grand Tour cyclists with very similar heights, but Pogačar carries more muscle mass and weighs about 7 to 8 kg (15 to 18 lbs) more than Vingegaard. Tadej Pogačar: 176 cm (5'9") tall and weighs roughly 64.5 to 66 kg (142 to 146 lbs) during peak racing form.Jonas Vingegaard: 175 cm (5'9") tall and weighs roughly 58 kg (128 lbs) during peak racing form. The slight height difference is negligible, but their weight difference heavily impacts their riding styles. Vingegaard’s featherweight build gives him a pure climber's advantage on steep ascents, while Pogačar’s heavier, slightly more muscular build allows him to produce higher overall wattage and excel in explosive punchy finishes, time trials, and Spring Classics.

Great video. 100% agree with everything.

Thank you for the presentation , nicely done.

By way of a response to some of the comments below....Until I get evidence to the contrary, I trust the guy 100%. He's clearly a nice guy and I don't see him in anyway as a cheat. Shame that someone who is an exceptional talent has to be brandished as such. He's a delightful character and a joy to watch. Go Pog!

I don't know, people have been talking about Pog vs Eddy for yonks.

Great video. Very interesting. I'm pretty much new to the sport, following the steps of my countryman, Isaac Del Toro. What a beautiful sport cycling is. Looking forward to learning more and more.

Nice recap of Pogacar v Merckx. Nice side affect of Pogacar's dominance is that it shows the greatness of Merckx.

Mercx was racing postmen, and ghys who had other jobs, and he was caught doping twice

When you have more capacity compared to all other riders, it becomes possible to even win sprints (you get at the finish more rested), ride more races (you don't get as exhausted as the others, plenty of stories where he rides relaxed while all others are suffering around him), do races that are not ideal for you (you have more room to compensate and prioritize comfort more like with cobbles, you don't lose focus as fast so make less mistakes).

I think he's better then Mercks, why? Back then specialization wasn't much of a thing yet, there was less team tactics, making it more easy for the strongest to dominate everything compared to how it's now for Tadej.
Now you have to compete against time trial specialists, long hill climbers, short hill climbers, cobble riders, sprinters.

He seems to able to stay humble and motivated through it all.

No backsies. UCI. It end with Lance and please keep that energy!!!!   I don't wanna hear doping here and there. Let's celebrate the greatness of Tadwj Pogacar. The GOAT!

Great video! Something you didn’t spell out but still came through is how it’s always Pogačar vs the world. Rivals change with the season and the races, he’s the only constant. That’s crazy and unthinkable a few years ago

Grand Slam

Good video🎉

Chasing cycling history... Tadej Pogacar. I didn't think there were people in this generation who would be this motivated and/or talented. Simply amazing.
