She was right.

Latadidi no.1 playback singer of the Industry.

Prem Rog k samay bhi jhagda hua tha aur akhri gaana jo shaadi ki mehfil ka tha Lata aur Asha dono ne mana kar diya tha gaane se, tab jaker Raj kapoor Sudha Malhotra ko laye jo kai dashako se gayan se dur thi aur ek yaadgar geet diya. Ye pyaar tha ki kuch aur tha

Jab Rafi aur talat mahmood chori chori gane ka jyada paise lete the tab Rafi mahan kaise ho gaye ek tarah se Rafi ne royalty ke mamle me lata ji ko dhokha hi diya tha aur mahan bante rahe

Raj kapur was a true knower jeweller of talent, knew how to get the most out of them,he himself was a great musical ear, mind and visualiser, truly a wizard like charlie chaplin....all rounder and a smart businessman ,knew how to get the most in returns and output from an artist...in performance, profit and royalty too

Whether one likes it or not, Lata ji's songs were the soul of RJ fims- more so with her favorites: Shankar  Jaikishan.  Many of these films are remembered  solely because of the ethereal music by the unmatched  SJ and thd vocals  of legends like Lat ji, Mukesh,  Manna Dey and Mohammad  Rafi. The music of the later films composed by LP and Ravindra Jain   just cannot be compared with SJ's magnificent  scores.By the mid 1960s the golden era of music had begun to wane ,- giving rise to loud noise in the nane of popular music .

Producers paying big amounts to music directors, musicians, lyricists studios and singers also. Then singer has no rights to ask for royalties to recording companies.

Lata didi par ye sab kuch nakhre karna to banta tha itni sundar voice ki malik thee❤❤❤❤

🎉🎉❤❤

Very detailed narration of this royalty feud.LataJi came up very head way,she conceded many times for many years till she knew she had moat- no competition to what she could deliver in business sense.her voice and singing was money minting machine, royalty minting cas cow for record companies and producers Raj kapur made much more money from royalty from HMV.Kata was 100% right ,she had become a strong and shrewd business woman...a must for maximizing the profit like Abt efficient corporate or businessman like RajKapur and BR chopra did.Mohammad Rafi was a saint, not a businessman, very vulnerable to exploitation. He did get exploited ,got underpaid due to his choice .This is what university of hard knocks taught Lata Mangeshkar, and she was a great learner .This video to me was highly educational case study on Royalty, business side of music, singing, skill Managment and business side of a singer.Singer alone? You bareky make a living, live and die broke.Like many singers, music composed, solo artists, lyricists did .Another smart lyricist ,shayar was Sahir ludhiyanvi,Rajendra Krishna, they were smart at charging their fees because they were in demand and their work was the soul of the box office, crowd and core of the movie.

I think you jumped from MNJ to SSS…LM first must have sung for Bobby as Bobby came in 1973 and SSS in 1978…thanks!…

Actually Mangeshkar family was in real sense Mangeshksr mafias who destroyed many a real/good singers career by hook or crook.

Rafi ji ne mana kiya lekin unke death ke baad family ko royalty ka paisa  bahut kaam aaya
