Laid back and cool here, Billy knows Gene Vincent better than any of the widely known musicians who were interviewed for this series. With the possible exception of original Blue Cap Jumpin' Jack Neal. Nail on the head when he says Gene was a more important influence than Elvis on the explosion of young rockabilly bands coming out of England and Europe in the late '70s / early '80s. Most of the so-called 'neo-rockabilly' bands featured Blue Caps songs in their set and emulated the Blue Cap trademark slow-down-speed-up arrangement in their own compositions.
I forget, probably some other folks here forget, that Billy wasn’t a kid when X made it big.
