Thank you, Maureen, for sharing all these images and your extensive knowledge of these beautiful, unique parian dolls. I really learned something. I had always thought simply meant a bisque or china doll with a very white complexion; I wasn't aware of the sculpted bisque or china hair being a key characteristic. Wonderful to see all these dolls and get your insights.
Perhaps using Krombholz books as reference would answer many questions about dating & manufacturer. I see a lot of people redressing these either as ladies when they represent children, or in styles that are too early. It would be wonderful if UFDC would compile an online reference of dolls in their original clothing, with the porcelain or leather limbs that are original to the doll.
