Overlanding the Flat Tops, we almost didn't make it out!

Experience intense off-road driving through the Flat Tops as we navigate technical terrain and mountain passes in our rig.

This trip takes our setup through various challenging landscapes, from dense wooded areas to steep inclines. We focus on the capability required for an overlanding adventure, showcasing how our rig handles the unpredictable nature of backcountry travel.

One of the most demanding sections involves navigating rocky trails that test our suspension and clearance. We also capture the experience of tackling a steep mountain road, highlighting the precision needed when towing a trailer through remote environments.

Subscribe for weekly overlanding trip breakdowns. What other historic trails should we explore with our setup next?

Bill I’m glad you published this video seeing how steep everything was just really hits hard. We’re so happy you, Deb and Aspen made it out safely. Can’t wait to see you guys in a couple of weeks.

Great video. Watching a bit more of the technical stuff was fun. Great POV from the front of the camper as well.

Superb driving skills. And yes. It's better to be over built than under built lol

We did those trails one year ago. As soon as I saw you were pulling a trailer through there, I had to watch this. Watching you attempt to climb up out of the valley had me on the edge of my seat as I remember very well how steep and off camber that hill was.

When I watched Matt’s video on the flat tops, I thought it looked like a place I needed to go. Now I don’t think I have the fortitude.

Live in Colorado and never did the Flat Tops till last year and the roads are not joke especially if wet & muddy. If you want remote Colorado (and don't mind the epic mosquitos) this is the place. We drove out on the Transfer Trail and for over 4 hours saw no one! Very rare in Colorado. My son loved the awesome fishing and few people. He can't wait to go back. Me, I could do without the bugs.

Yeah….a trailer is always trying to push or pull you downhill. We had to chuckle when Deb said, “Don’t break anything”. I am sure you guys are glad you made it out. Fortunately you met up with someone.
