Cam Newton Isn’t Backing Down — QB Runs All of Sports

4th&1 With Cam Newton

Cam breaks down why no other position carries the same level of responsibility, pressure, leadership, and impact as QB. From controlling the tempo of the game to being the face of the franchise, he explains why everything runs through the quarterback — and why the margin for error is smaller than anywhere else.
Is he right? Or is there another position in sports that carries more weight?

Saying Josh Allen has “no talent” around him when Cook led in rushing yards and his O line is top 5 in the league is ridiculous.

Whenever people say josh has no talent around him, remember Mahomes won a superbowl with a 35 year old Travis kelce and MVS and Juju as his main targets while he was the leading rusher

Cam you getting better!

Lol these QBs know what that are signing up for so I feel sorry for no one for taking the offer the TEAM made them. If there's not enough for more talent on the team then good luck.

In the nfl, coaches and play callers play a huge role in a teams success as well.

Goalie in Hockey is pretty close. An Elite Goalie will get you to the Stanley Cup for sure.

Agreed, just because you play the position of qb does not mean you need to be the highest paid player on the team if the production/talent does not match.

I've always said if your QB is not top 3 caliber your better off not paying him and building out your team.

I can get behind this take.

I’ll take a strong defense over a high end, expensive QB every time. A great defense with an above average QB and great RB is more than enough

You have a better chance winning a game with a bad QB than you do with a bad goalie. They are equally important but in football, you have 2 other phases of the game where you can dominate and score.

They would have never won the SuperBowl without Sammy D!! He played well this year and went hard in the paint in the NFC Chip game and made perfect decisions in the SuperBowl that were very needed to win the game.

This is why you account for mentality when you draft a qb. Patty Homes , and Tom Brady sacrificed to get them rings.

I think players should be expected to do as much as they are paid relative to their position. If i have a player who is the highest paid player at their position in football i expect him to outperform those players who are paid far less relative to their position. The issue is the QB market is currently broken because of the rules that skewed way too far in the offenses favor making it way more important to have an average-above average QB.

Cam breaking down football and not yelling at me.

@Brett-k6v 7 months ago

Offensive line and run game + top 10 defense and you can win championships with average quarterback

The NFL keeps changing the narrative. I the 90s some teams rather pound the ball instead of throwing the ball. The league wants entertainment which is high scoring games for people to watch. Now running backs not getting paid like they used too. Receivers are making more today.
