In an Ivory Coast marked by conflict, football has become a tool for national cohesion. This film retraces the epic journey of the Elephants, from the 1992 AFCON to the Drogba generation, including the diplomatic impact of simply qualifying. Stadiums become places of hope, orange jerseys symbols of peace, and locker rooms spaces for mediation. The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, hosted on home soil, becomes a mirror of a nation in crisis, but also one reclaiming its pride.
The documentary also explores the individual journeys of the players, between exile, homesickness, sporting responsibilities, and public pressure. Football is a promise of change: social, economic, and cultural. From dirt pitches to world-class stadiums, Ivorians embody a collective hope. The film showcases the youth, the training centers, the challenges of following in the footsteps of heroes, but also the strength to pass on the torch, to persevere, and to make football a vehicle for national resilience.
