We have fast guitarists who don't play emotional solos, they just repeat a series of fast, aimless solos at their own level over and over again and you don't feel anything when you hear them, like Craig Hemmett, like death metal guitarists. On the other hand, we have emotional guitarists who don't have the ability to play fast solos at all and play their own simple music, like Andrew Latimer. After 25 years of listening to music, I've only known one guitarist who chooses notes with taste even in high pickups. Only he can make me cry in one song and make me jump in the air in the next. My dear John Petrucci, I love you.
After following closely DT since mid 90's, and even having heard this song for thousands of times and versions, it's the very first time i hear this version.
I was driving on the way back home. And, after listening to the first 4:30 minutes, something happened...
Tears of joy suddenly started to run down along my cheeks.
5:45 After 3 years I returned to ny today and saw her AGAIN for 10 seconds only. Fortunately she didn't see me. Currently at 2.27 am I am holding a cigarette on my left hand and listening this favourite song. And I can feel my eyes are being wet slowly. I thank god for blissing me with such unique feelings."Long live love"
Loved the ending improvisation bit between Jordan and Portnoy, James looks very good and sounds incredible in this. Petrucci is always will be the God although in this one I didn't feel what I used to with his solos, and Myung was solid as always. Love DT
10:07 Petrucci literally gave sense to this passage: "And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight"
