Another tip I found to save works is to periodically use a darning needle and thread in a long piece of contrasting yard into a row of stitches. Then if you have to frog it out, that yarn will save that row and you can move the stitches from the saving yarn to the needle very easily.

This was exactly what I was looking for! I had to rip out a row but I had ripped off one too many so my yarn was one down from the top. And I wasn’t sure how to fix it. Now I do! Thank you!!❤❤

It's worth mentioning that not all mistakes require frogging. Let's say you notice a purl stitch that should have been a knit stitch. It takes far less time to drop down to that single stitch, fix it, and work back up the column than it does to frog and reknit multiple rows.
