Even though I wasn't feeling the Elden Ring experience, if this video hits 20 LIKES, then I will do ANOTHER video on Elden Ring where I use a guide to progress further!

EDIT: OK OK you guys absolutely SMASHED this video, so thank you for all the help and tips. I read each and everyone of your comments and I am working on the next episode, you definitely don't want to miss it! Thanks again! <3

Opening the first chest in the game that teleports you directly into doom is just a souls classic. You gotta admit that 😂

You were actually doing pretty good for someone who’s never played before. Good on you for giving it a try. Mad respect.

Hey man, as someone who had a similar experience with this game to you, I'll recommend exploring. If the game tells you to go one way, go the other way for a little. In most games fighting is how you get stronger, in this game exploring new areas is how you get stronger. If you ever feel your character cant handle this current mission, go fight something else. There's over 100 bosses (few of which are reqired), so theres always something you can beat right now, and beating it will teach you something new. Dodge timing, weapon skills, damage types. Its a long but worthwhile journey.

coming from somebody with a little over 1000 hours, this was one of the most entertaining vids ive watched in awhile.

25:53 hugging lady decreases your max HP until you use the blessing she gave you

Watching this man run headfirst into a runebear was priceless.

2:35 Bats... the word you were searching for is bats.

Your potions weren't disabled during the fight with the wizard where your runes were stuck in that room. You had accidentally hit down on the d pad and had mana potions selected instead of healing.

I was praying for him finding the L1 button the whole time 😂

Some tips for your playthrough: If you ever see a church, go check it out. It likely has a Sacred Tear in it to increase the amount of HP/FP you can replenish. Also, if you want more survival, you can allocate your flasks to more crimson tears or just crimson tears. Unless you're a spellcaster or use summons, FP is not that important. Other than that, I'll let you play however you want. Elden Ring is rated E for Everyone.

There are better ways to do it, but farming the giant for runes is legit part of the elden ring experience. No one should have shit negative to say about that.

was just watching this in the background while i played a game and the quality is on par with much much biggest youtubers
you have great potential

Elden Ring is hard, but its still a great game. Here's a few tips:

1. You can use your spirit summons (the wolves or the wandering noble) when there is a blue sigil on the middle left of the screen. You will normally see it in boss fights and certain areas in the world with difficult enemies. You will see it inside Godrick's boss fight.
2. Explore. Elden Ring is an open world game. Explore, level up, have fun. If you're stuck on a boss (like Godrick) leave, level up, and then come back.
3. NPCs. When you talk to NPCs, make sure to keep talking to them until they start repeating dialogue. Most NPCs will always have more to say.
4. Dodge towards the attacks, not away. By dodging into them, the amount of time you are inside the hitbox of the attack is lessened, making dodging much easier.

The most important advice I have, however, is to be patient. In boss fights and in the open world. If you rush through the world, only trying to fight bosses, you will struggle (since you won't have leveled up much). This is (I assume) your first Souls game. They are meant to be hard, but they are fair. Every boss has a cool moveset, some more challenging than others; however, every single boss will have openings. Whether its right after they finish a combo against you, or after a big charge attack, or anything else. The best thing you can do is pay attention to what the boss is doing and learn how to dodge and when to attack.

I love Elden Ring, and I really want to see you succeed. I really hope you give this game another chance! I can't wait for your next video!

Great content! Glad you're going to be giving ER another chance. It's a very satisfying game to master (just remember how it felt to beat Margit - once hooked, you'll keep chasing that high; mastering bosses is what I do for fun on my own channel). Four tips/recommendations :
1. You have an HP debuff for hugging Fia (see the tiny red square below your bars that has a small black downward arrow on it). To get rid of it, use the baldachin blessing Fia gave you and the debuff will go away shortly.
2. Especially in the early game and for first playthroughs, leveling  Vigor is the best use of your runes. For the point of the game you're at, 20 vigor is recommended, and 30 will trivialize the boss moveset learning process since you can survive more combo chains, be less frustrated, and maximize the moveset learning process by staying alive longer. 40 vigor is a good thing to strive for once you get to next sections of the map/game
3. I think someone already mentioned this, but two-handing weapons helps you meet strength requirements earlier. For example, instead of needing 31 strength for the brick hammer you found, you can actually use it with only 21 strength if you two-hand it. The math: requirement divided by 1.5
4. I would explore more anytime you hit a wall (Godrick). Go SOUTH on the map and explore Weeping Penninsula now while you're still low level. You will find several useful power ups at 3 churches there. Also, alot of us ER vets like seeing play throughs like yours because it rekindles some of that wonder of discovery we could only get from our first time playing; looking up too many guides might deprive you of the feeling, so maybe don't go too overboard on spoiling things for yourself

You need to dodge INTO attacks more than you dodge away from them. A lot of the time that's the only way to properly avoid. So fight your instincts and try to stay close.

Bro did not enjoy peak 😢, if you do pick it back up 3 things:
1. The games built in difficulty slider is using your summons(which you can do by equipping the “spirit ashes” to your hot bar.
2. Rolling “into” attacks instead of “away” from the boss will change your life.
3. If a boss is being a pain in the ass the beauty of the game is leaving it, exploring and coming back stronger to beat its ass. Those big bosses like the one you left at are kind of “skill checks” and leaving them and finding smaller bosses that drop hella runes and busted items is almost mandatory sometimes.

watched this after the second video, but had this added in my watchlist of over 300 vidoes, but gotta say your titles are great, you got a talent for youtube man, enjoyed both of your videos a lot and eagerly waiting for the third, and yes forgot to mention you are already a better player than most of the beginners, you know how to dodge and wait for the timing, most people just rage and try to keep attacking and quit the game too early without understanding the basics. Keep up the good work man 👍👍❤❤❤

I had the same experience, with its older brother in Dark souls 3. After I couldn’t beat the first boss, I put the game down for 3 years, kept hearing how great it was and thought: “there must be something to this”. I just decided to use a guide, it was the best decision I made, turned me into a full souls fan.

The thing about challenging games. As obvious as it seems to point out. You can always just take your time playing them. As long as you are still alive and have the energy, you can eventually come back and experience the game fresh from wherever you left off last. Taking a break is the best way to enjoy difficult games. The toughest challenge isn't the challenge of the game itself, but knowing when you've had enough and not hitting your head against a wall getting more frustrated and playing worse as a result. The whole point is to have fun, and when you run out of steam, this kind of game doesn't cater to players when they reach their limit, and ESPECIALLY not to players who purposefully limit themselves in the game by avoiding major advantages and progression points to "prove themselves". RPGs like elden ring a mix of skill progression and resource and level progression as well. You basically get to choose how hard you want the game to be in a sense. I'm glad you gave this game another shot and I hope you can find the time to enjoy all the others as you move on.
