Allah says in the Soorah al Mu'minun Ayah 99-100 that when death comes to the evil people, they will ask Allah to send them back so that they can do good. Allah then says that these are only words which they speak - meaning that if they were to be sent back, they would do evil again, even though they have seen death and the afterlife.

Allah also says in Soorah al Hijr Ayah 14-15 that if the gates of heaven were opened and the disbelievers were allowed to ascend through them, instead of believing, the disbelievers would say that their eyes have been bedazzled and they are being affected by witchcraft.

From this we know that those for whom Allah has chosen misguidance would not take guidance even if they saw the proof with their own eyes.

That being said, only Allah knows who can be guided and who cannot. So it is still upon us to give Da'wah whenever and wherever we have the opportunity.

"Indeed, the worst of all beings in the sight of Allah are the ˹wilfully˺ deaf and dumb, who do not understand.

Had Allah found any goodness in them, He would have certainly made them hear. ˹But˺ even if He had made them hear, they would have surely turned away heedlessly."
Al-Anfal : 22-23

I was gonna write a long comment what happened to me but what the brother said was correct.  I am a revert sister who came into Islam for haya of the deen then well to make this story short I did leave Islam and after 10 yrs Alhumduillah Allah brang me back in 2015  If Allah sees good in a person heart then Allah well guide them.

10 yrs I lefted Islam and I remember everything and  when Allah showed me a sign in a vivid dream about the end of the world and I knew this a sign from Allah to come back to Islam and I adhered to that. It was not my choice to come back Alhumduillah Allah made it for me in my heart to come back Alhumduillah
My story is very long but I well not go into it.  The one thing that Allah put in my head so I don't leave Islam again is Islam and Muslims are 2 different things if a Muslim hurts you it is them not Islam to blame and Alhumduillah Allah put this in my head..
It's true a person will have a depressed life without Islam I am a witness to this for myself.  Yes I am blessed that Allah brang me back and I am blessed that Allah not take me in death when I lefted Islam. I got so much punishment when I lefted Islam I remember Suban'Allah. Even when I was away from Islam I not believed in haram relationships Alhumduillah for that.

Later Allah showed me what Salafiyyah is and Alhumduillah for that if a person really has real Tawhid and knows Allah they well never leave in the first place.

I was nasara before. Islam gave me something that Christianity never gave  me

Islam is a haya deen that protects women and Alhumduillah for that and Alhumduillah for to be covered and I love it by Allah.

It's obvious in the Quran whom Allah guides and misguides but most people don't even know.

Subhan Allah often times one might think ohh this person seems so nice yet Subhan Allah if there was any good in them they will accept their Lord The Most High Allahu Alam . Barak Allahu Feekum for teaching . May Allah guide Muslim ummah Ameen

Our Prophet ﷺ said “Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi immediately after each prescribed prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and his entering Paradise except death."
Dont forget to recite Ayatul kursi before sleep Our Prophet ﷺ  said, When you go to your bed, recite Ayatul Kursi and you will be protected by Allah, and no devil will come near you until morning (5010) Narrated by al-Bukhari

2. Allah misguides those who aren't actively seeking guidance that they will never accept guidance and Allah knows all things.

This seemed to trouble me in the past but alhamdulillah the video clarified it very well. All that will happen from the start of creation to the end have been written on the Preserved Tablet, as Allah has knowledge of all things.

He also did not force anyone to do anything. He did not force Iblis to disobey Him and not prostrate to Adam alayhis salam, but Iblis still blamed Allah (we seek refuge in Allah from this) for leading him astray in Surah Al-Hijr ayah 39: "Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error, except those of Your servants whom You have singled out for Yourself.""

Similarly, Allah knew that Adam alayhis salam would disobey His command to not go near the tree in Heaven, but this is already written in the Preserved Tablet 40 years before his creation as can be seen in his conversation with Musa alayhim assalam.

For the second thing, the matter is very simple: يَقُولُونَ هَل لَّنَا مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ مِن شَىْءٍ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَمْرَ كُلَّهُۥ لِلَّهِ
