Drummer here, this is not a conventional blast beat. Theres a 16th note triplet feel happening over the top of a 4/4 blast beat. It's cool. Their drummer is highly talented actually, very very underrated.

Every one of their songs is different. Don't be afraid to keep listening.

8:40 "OK."
"OK."
"That...that..."
"That was a...that was definitely a..."
"That was...that was a..."
"It was..."

That's actually about a super-concise review.

"I'm confused."
You just described SOAD. Haha. 8 tempo changes in one song is their specialty.

This song has aged..... eerily well.

Them: "I like this lil groove."
me: Knowing what the last minute of the the song sounds like, knowing good and damn well they are about to get schmacked

Listen to Prison Song if you really want to hear some of the government stuff.

System's first live performance happened 24 years ago today.

"Fun" fact: the "screamer" is usually Daron Malakian, the guitarist, not Serj. ; )

I can understand when people don’t like some System songs, but you really have to look into their lyrics to get a full understanding of the power of their music.

the fact that SOAD made this song a massive single is just so amazing. this song is. a. banger.

Truly unique band....All their shit is good and so dynamic.

It's quite something seeing someone react to SOAD for the first time, you get used to it after a while so you tend to forget the wtf factor you experienced firsthand.

BLAST OFF! ITS PARTY TIME! I can't ever hear that part without thinking of Darren's extreme close up. Lol

If you listen to Lonely Day by them you can get a clearer picture of how phenomenally they harmonize. Also Empty Walls by Serj (from the lead singer's solo project) it's badass.

@BraanFlakes08 6 years ago

Its so crazy you said he has an "opera-attic sound" because the singer Serj is legit an opera singer. Very very impressed you could pick up on that, legit first reaction ive ever seen where thats picked up on
