😍 Welcome to all the new commers! We've been making fly fishing and camping videos for a number of years and we wanted to start telling stories with our horses so we started this new channel!

If you're into this kind of stuff we'd appreciate you saying hello and of course subscribing so you can't miss what's coming next. We've got several big things coming soon!

Ah, takes me back to my pre-adolescent days of horse-craziness, reading Western Horseman, pictures of King ranch horses, horses for sale that I dreamed of owning. Good to recal those days!

My Dad, loved the DocBar..He had them more than any other. He had them trained and then he would resell them. Sure do miss those days and miss you too Dad..RIP

My grandfather bought a palomino stallion in the 1940s from the King Ranch. He called him Texas King.

About ten years ago our local animal control rescued a fleabit gray QH brood mare from squalid conditions out in California Valley. She had the strong foundation build and was no pushover, a real alpha mare! Friends named her Scarlett, and she lived her last years as the girl boss in a big pasture near San Luis Obispo.

I grew up with Poco Bueno horses…. I dream of my heart horse, a real kind and able fellow. Love to see this. ❤

I don't know too much about horse care, but those horses look amazing. They're thick and muscular, their coats are full and shiny! I don't think I've ever seen so many horses at once all look so well pampered :] Thanks for this cool video

When I was 12 years old, my precious Daddy and I were BLESSED to find and buy a 12 year-old quarter horse gelding named King.  His registered name was Hemisking.  His grandeur was King-P234, he had Theee Bars, Yellowjacket, Zantanon- basically all the old blood lines!   Daddy knew about little bit about old QH bloodlines, because he had worked for Jess Hankins, original owner of King P-234.   Funny story- my Daddy repo’d cars for him all over South Texas .  We had no idea about my horses bloodline until my uncle met up with us that day, and he knew QH bloodlines, and was amazed - he told me and my Daddy that we had bought a true foundation QH for 450.00 !!! My King was a big thoroughbred built, but he had a hip and should on him like a QH!   He rode like a dream, was so sweet and gentle- won my first blue ribbons on him!!   He was registered as sorrel, but he was more like a seal brown or liver sorrel color with a small white star and one white sticking on one of his back legs.  I will never forget him, and I’d love to have another one with those  old bloodlines.  This ranch is amazing that they are keeping these old bloodlines alive!!!   You just can’t beat a QYARTER HORSE!!!

Wow... This is Incredible setup ❤

I am truly Blessed to have a really sweet and gentle Quarter Horse. He is Registered, and His Blood Line goes back to San Pepe from the King Ranch. His Name is Asp Amigo Pepe Gay, I call Him Amigo. I truly believe that the Horse is Gods epitome of all the Creatures He made. His Grace of movement stops Me in My tracks every time I see Him run for joy. Even at 23yrs. old, He is stout and full muscled. I am lucky to have Him.

Oh I loved seeing your new colt and seeing all of Shannon’s horses.  King breeding wow.. brings me back to my childhood reading every Western horseman I could get my hands on.  Great video thanks so much!

Hi at Driftstone Ranch!  I am like you.  I started studying pedigrees and bloodlines at a young age, and almost before I see the horse I want to see the papers.  When I was a kid growing up in Michigan my parents bought us registered Quarter Horses for our 4-H projects.  One mare we had was a bay mare by John Leo by Leo.  Her name was Sonora Del Leo and she was a hunk.  At one point my parents bought me a sorrel filly with a bald face and 3 high white socks.  She sparked my interest in Paint horses and I had overo paints which come from excessive white Quarter Horses most of my life.  Through high school I used to take my parents  Quarter Horse  Journals with me and study them during study hall.  The Stallion editions every December were the ones I especially looked forward to!  I have a 1982 Stallion Edition right now on the dresser in my bedroom.  I treasure it.  Inhad saved a bunch of them from my childhood but my ex husband threw them all out one day while I was at work.  So I treasure the one I have left!

Am 73 lady who grew up in the 50s and 60s. Horses crazy. R3ad all of black beauty books and any other horse books I could find. Took riding lessons when I was 8n my early 20s. I bought a set of horse posters and kept them several years. I also read western horseman. When to watch the Andalusian white horses perform. What a  delight. Love these videos.

Love the older foundation bloodlines!! The guy I get mine from is the same as Shanon, he knows his bloodlines and I trust what he tells me. I’ve gotten 2 horses from him, the first was a 4 year old mare, that had a fantastic mind. She got EPM, we got it fixed but the damage had been done. So I was lucky enough that he wanted to keep the bloodline and continue to use her as a broodmare so I took her back and in return brought home a 3/4 brother of hers who is currently in training and doing very well. This foaling season I got an update that she had a red filly and even took in another mare that had rejected her foal!

Love the Leo lines, we have several old school pedigrees. I really like keeping the old lines going.

I remember wimpy being the top stud , back when I was very young. I love Mettalic Cat and I would love A filly from him.

I've been binging all of your videos!! You have such a great style of filming / story telling.

Beautiful video Not a horse owner yet ,but a horse lover 🎚️🦾🙏🏽💙

God bless
