Gravity Falls is my all time favorite show. Like most of it's fans, I loved analyzing and diving into every little bit of it. So I've dedicated an entire series to doing just that. This is the first part of a multi part retrospective looking back on as much of the series as I possibly can. To start off, we're gonna take a look at the Story of Season 1. The silly, the mysterious, the confusing, and the weird and exciting! Welcome to Going Back to Gravity Falls. Enjoy!

I feel like this show’s gonna be taught in writing classes, and I hope to be one of the ones to teach them.

fun fact, bills "greatly written dialog" comes from alex hirsch writing whatever comes to mind when he first wakes up, he wakes up, writes his first thought and goes "yeah... thats something bill would do"

"An immature teenager"....
I am 42 years old and just discovered, and shotgunned this show in like a week and am HOOKED! The Lore for Days from this show is incredible and I am, as I'm sure many young fans are, hopeful for M O R E!!!

i can’t explain how inspiring this show is to me as someone who’s actively working to go into the animation industry. i can’t afford calarts but let’s hope one day i’ll be able to make a show as relatable, intriguing, and adventurous as gravity falls.

this video is so thought out and well worded, kudos i am hyped for the second part

Wow I didn't know Let it Shine AND Gravity Falls premiered on my 9th birthday, Disney blessed me that year😭🙏🏽

I thought at first the portal was a gateway to somewhere in space or something, maybe a realm that contacts a cosmic horror for him to make the ultimate deal with (him being a con man and all). A diety that he secretly worships in a cult of some kind. Or something that would trap Grunkle Stan, and Dipper and Mabel will have to spend season 2 saving him and finding the author. Bill was just trying to vaguely warn them the whole time.

I never felt like manga and anime that gravity falls ever made fun of the fans that where invented in the story or the growth of the characters but did make fun of the shippers and romance fanfiction

In that wax episode Larry King did his own voice. Also in Dungeons Dungeons and more Dungeons, Weird Al Yankovich did the voice of Probabilitor the Annoying.

" look Mabel, Butt Island" " Soos you Rapskalian" ! The Gobblewonker episode. Stan,: " Hey you wanna hear a joke"? " my x wife still misses me" " but her aim is getting better".... " her aim is getting better"!

28:19 this is another great foreshadow by the writers. when you have watched the show, you notice thats ford, not stan. stan didnt get that "tatoo" until ford was in the portal, and bill knew only of stanford, because stanley and stanford were no contact until the portal scene in a tale of 2 stans
might be wrong, but it looks more like ford than stan
also, edit, stan got the tatoo from it being burned on to him. the symbol was in fords portal room when it was burned on, so ford still has a connection to the symbol

I am pretty sure that I first saw gravity Falls when I was around my early teenagers like 14 or 15 one of those most likely 14 actually, and I was going downstairs to get some thing like usual my brother loved being downstairs because he liked the big TV a lot and would constantly watch shows or play games on it, and I saw that my brother was watching gravity Falls out of all of the episodes he was watching the first episode I saw on that screen was not what he seems, which is now my favorite episode of season two and I would watch it together after that I would always ask him to put it on plus he loved spending time with me as my older brother. Overtime I became even more fond of gravity, Falls, and it is now my favorite show of all times
