this war stuff is pretty serious send the 12 years old

Ah yes, my class, as someone from a village. There's towns in pokemon with higher populations than the place I grew up in.

So funny thing about the Commoner and Noble classes in Three Houses: the Noble offers a +10% Charm growth, while Commoner gets nuthin.

It's kind of funny how ever since awakening, the series has been kind of obsessed with villagers forever

Scariest opening threat I've ever heard tbh.

20:29 It's me. I made Amelia a general because of the chain weapon thing and because SS gave generals massive fucking buster swords to master the weapon triangle. Also because I loved the mental idea of little Amelia walking out onto the field decked out like a mountain and screaming Wallace's one epic line, "A giant walks among you! Come, break your weapons upon me!"

Extremely minor correction, but it's actually VILLAGER and Fighter that are male-exclusive in Awakening, not Mercenary and Fighter. Donnel always passes down Mercenary, but daughters inherit Pegasus Knight and Troubadour while sons inherit Villager and Fighter. For this reason, he's better as a father for the girls, but a prospective son of Donnel's is also the only way to get another Villager.

Funnily enough, there's not really a practical reason to do this, but pairing Donnel with Panne, and then marrying Yarne with female Robin, will result in Morgan having access to the most class lines out of any recruitable unit in the game (all standard male classes plus Taguel and Villager) by exactly one class. That's more incidental to Villagers as a class specifically, but it's a fun bit of trivia involving them.

5:01 My guess is that coding in a menu for the sole purpose of promoting villagers would’ve required too much additional code than was worth it for an NES cartridge.

29:44 using Partitio’s theme for donnel is very fitting, a trained Donnel is absolutely beating the devil known as poverty

This is a comment to say I like Jean and his funny hat.

I wonder if the popularity of Donnel-Villagers influenced the dropping of manaketes. From a unit feel perspective, both achieve the idea of “small/frail character gets massive stats and goes on a rampage”, just having it be more satisfying through it being level ups vs powerful personal weapons.

I grew up in a place that technically qualified as a village as a kid. Way more people than you would think I had full 20 person classrooms. I’m just saying. Most of the cities in the games nowadays would be considered villages and thus everyone is a villager

Mercenary isn't actually a male only class in awakening, Fighter and Barbarian are. However Donnel still passes down both female exclusive classes due to Villager not being inheritable

It’s worth noting that Donnell falls off in content that actually approaches the stat caps of Awakening.

His modifiers are lower than usual in places that matter and make it not worth it if you’re planning a Lunatic run or an Apotheosis run.

In hard and normal he’s a very fun 0-hero experience but technically speaking when everyone hits their peaks, he’s back to being one of the weakest units in the game and can gimp a child a bit too in those contexts (that being said, most of the children are at base better than him and have the other parent to counteract it)

Funny enough, I always considered Lachesis and Leif to be the villager equivalent of FE4... Concept-wise, they are clearly trainee projects like them

Thank you for mentioning Barry bonds I almost went a minute without thinking about him

I do really love ALL FEMSPaint videos!!!! ❤

I am impressed that there is not one singular mention of "Potential Man" in a video that covers Potential so much.

When I first played Awakening I had no idea I could second seal Donnel into a different class so I kept him as a villager the whole way, up until he killed Grima.
