I like this concept - whether you suffer with mental health, chronic illness or you are just going through a rough time in life (grief, illness of family member, new baby, busy work season) I find it helpful to be very clear about the true needs. You need hygiene which is brushing your teeth, using soap on your body, and maybe shampoo/conditioner, and deodorant. You don't need serums, you don't need to shave your legs, unless you have a skin condition you don't even need lotion. All of this are great - if you want to and can. Cleaning your house - you need to remove trash, wash your dishes, wash your clothes, and clean your toilet/shower/sink. You need to have food and eat / feed your family. You don;t actually need to keep dusting every week. I mean yes over months/years this can be an issue - but if you are in a tough phase - truly remember what is actually needed - focus on getting those done before you even think about anything else. Actually get those basic things done first and feel good. Then if you want to dust / vacuum / mop / chop veggies and make a fresh home made soup that's all well and fine but you need to really understand the basics and focus on those.

Me and my husband have just started having "daily bare minimums" on our to do list actually!! I feel like it's going to help a lot! These are such good tips. So much productivity content out there is genuinely just overwhelming/unrealistic but these are all so doable. I love the comfort anchor idea, I am gonna try this!

Yes to the decluttering as a maximalist video idea ! That would be so helpful to me !!!

this feels like the finish line of self improvement videos

The "daily bare minimum" is what saves this exhausted ADHD household. Dishes are done and the kitchen counters wiped after dinner. Dirty laundry is put in the hamper. If something is clean and dry, it's folded and put away. The rest can wait for when there's energy. My daily comfort is a cup of coffee, and I have an alarm set for it. I make it, and that's part of my reset. There's something about the ritual of making the coffee and then sitting down for a few minutes to enjoy it and check in. If I'm at the "office," (I work with seals, so the "office" is outside) then my short walk to the cafe is part of my lunch break. Another one is a stretch session. I try to make a list for the week, and I'll have the prioity things in one section that I can choose which one to tackle that day. Then I can shift the others according to energy and focus.

I have adopted the mantra"It's better than nothing."

For me I found having a done list can help if I don’t get to the three things on my todo list cos something unexpected happens, this could be something broke and needed fixing, I have call peoples to reschedule an event or I got a surprise invite to lunch with friends I’ve not seen in ages. The done list can really help me see how much I’ve done even if the to do list items couldn’t happen.

i still feel a bit hopeless with it, since right now i feel like i dont have control over my environment and im in an environment that sort of sucks out my energy, and wont be able to leave until two weeks from now, but this is the first time ive seen someone who has had the same thoughts and days i have had before. Like the not being able to message people because its overwhelming and i dont have energy, constantly forgetting to respond, not even being able to do basic chores around the house. The dishes and laundry have been piling up and i feel scared to do them now because a part of me doesnt want to go downstairs, and i feel guilty forgetting about it.
My friend already scolded me for just isolating myself, so I'm trying not to do so but it is hard. I do like these tips though, it makes sense to have at least 3 things to accomplish even if they are "mundane"

this is such a creative take. i love self wellness content, and also struggle with OCD and feel guilty when I am not as productive as I planned. Thank you for this!

This is actually so helpful, esp bc I'm planning on moving out of my sister's place soon and was thinking up ways I could revamp my routines and cleanliness habits to be more useful, and with the issues I have it is probably wise to have a worst day plan instead of best day plan

@SHGogo-df5jr 1 month ago

Personally, a battery that needs to charge less often is actually hard for me. Bc that means I won't necessarily be charging it on a schedule & so I forget about it. Then I'll only notice it needs to be charged when I'm trying to use it, which means I'll prob just skip it that day, instead of after it charges. Also, this type of battery prob means it'll take awhile to charge up again, so that adds to this issue for me. It just makes me feel more dysregulated & off, rather than a battery that I charge every day, or every other day. Or even every week

I love this video. I started following you a few days ago and binge watched so much of your content. I love whimsy and feel so inspired by you.

On bad days, I tell myself (preferably out loud) that it's ok to feel how I'm feeling and that it won't last forever. I give myself "permission" so that I don't fall into the trap of believing there's something wrong with me or that I need to give myself a pep talk to get out of my funk.

I love this sit down/chatty video and the great tips! Thank you!

Thank you for that video. It is really inspiring! I have done a few of those things myself and find them very comforting, like have that one meal you always eat at least a few bites of in the day, or put "getting out of bed" on your to-do-list for the really bad days. Just giving more value to the little things, I guess. ❤
