The camera is there to ensure FICSIT pioneers are using the bathroom efficiently, and not using their phone while on the toilet

10:26 This is now an in-game feature as of v1.1. Tho the mod can still allow upgrading machines while retaining their color and color copying from existing machines, so it's still useful.

8:30 - When you scan, it only ever shows the 3 closest nodes, or groups of nodes if they are far enough away. If you want to see all resources in an area, there's always the radar tower, though you have to unlock it. Cartograph seems cool too though.

Thanks for the video! My own playthrough fizzled out right around this milestone. I was planning to do a combined HMF/Computer/other stuff factory so that I can ship those over and make the last project part. But my blueprints weren't quite as helpful/useful as I hoped.

I'll probably try and use yours and start with a standalone HMF factory. I always end up wanting to make a factory that does a lot and then lose interest because it gets too complex. Smaller factories seem to work better for me.

I know you talked about "sub units" beforehand, but when I first saw that SU paint, I was sure it stood for Smelting Unit 😅

I agree with the approach of doing little modules that can be completed in their own videos all working to support a larger build. Putting things in context allows you to do little mini series along the way while completing factories and still feeling satisfied in each video.

Glad to see you're doing better! Those two mods (especially the painting one) should absolutely be QoL improvements to the base game. Being able to whip out the customizer and copy a color by looking at it is so amazing, not to mention copying an item copies its color specs too.
