Based on the life of Malcolm Webster, who was convicted of murdering his first wife and attempting to kill his second wife. Webster was found guilty of murdering his first wife in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and of attempting to murder his second wife in New Zealand. His first wife, Claire Morris, died after their car caught fire which was treated as an accident and resulted in a huge insurance pay out. Webster went on to marry New Zealander, Felicity Drumm, who he also attempted to kill in a car crash. Suspicions were raised about his actions, which led to Webster being prosecuted in the Scottish courts - 17 years after the death of Morris.
