It isn't the economy it's unchecked corporate greed

I quit Lowe’s many years ago. Worked my butt off. Needed some normalcy after the military. Got a message that some of brothers gave the ultimate sacrifice 2 weeks before Veteran’s day. HR denied my request despite knowing why I wanted off. Walked out on the spot. They don’t give a shyt about anyone!

The U.S. used to be against having too many huge companies and merges for this reason.  Now our government allows it because they are getting paid off by these exact companies.

I worked at Lowe's for 9 months , I got Osha certified in all three lifts and due to the fact most of my co workers were on the older side , I felt obligated to help out in their department because they wouldn't or couldn't get the certification to use the lift to get product down for customers . My "teammates "  couldn't lift the waterheaters , fridges, tool boxes...anyhow I end up getting in trouble for not being in my department.  I was an all-star there because I could actually help customers in every department and walk a client from A to Z on how to , and what they need to finish their home improvement project , step by step. Tips and tricks. The customers loved me aside from one guest whom came in drunk and I warned her about driving in her condition and she went to complain about me . And my management punished me and sent me home , And I never went back. I get a call on my next shift while sleeping in from my manager "Where you at"? I'm right where I wannabe.  Goodbye and Goodnight , Lowe's I had high hopes until I actually worked there , Im surprised anything gets done there.

Lowe’s pulled the same nonsense with me when I ordered a washer and dryer on sale supposed to be free delivery I declined all the hoses and cords, etc. they still charge me. And to add insult to injury. The delivery guy scratched my walls (5 inches long all the way through the drywall 1/4 inch deep) and scratched the appliances.  plus The dryer broke after six loads ( not even 14 days owning them) and they refused to make good on it told me I had to deal with whirlpool to replace the part and I had to go after the subcontractor for the damage to my home. Waited 6 months for the part and the new part broke again a few loads later. All these companies are horrible now.

Not just Lowe's happens in a lot of retail stores.

If it shows one price on the shelf, and another on the register. Legally, they have to sell it for the sticker or "sale" or "displayed" or "advertised" price. Otherwise that is called "bait and switch", which is 100% illegal.

2:45 it's a law that if you advertise a price you must honor it, unless the store can prove it was an error. File a claim with your local consumer affairs office.

Always check any items in a box..
One guy brought a toilet …it was return months ago…he went home it had a old toilet..
He went back to Lowe’s ..they refused to give a refund!

CALL CORPORATE….if you can get though…?
Corporate gets a call from a customer…each score manger gets a black mark on record as a fail manager who not help a customer!
Note ..All store managers can give any refunds even. Replace any old / use merchandise..

As a contractor, I constantly have problems with employees and/or managers from Lowes! They have proven time and time again that they don’t care if you spend $100 or 50k a year, they still give you shitty service!!!

I hate Lowes!  My local Lowes store's manager Refuses to accept my DD214 as proof of military service!  His excuse is that it doesn't have a photo on the document and they claim that a contractor gave his DD214 to one of the people working for him to use for discounts.

Home Depot on the otherhand, is more than happy to accept my DD214 as proof.   I go there instead of Lowes.

I work for a company like this but in another country, I just want to remind everyone to please not take out your frustrations on the floor team, we have absolutely no control over the shit show, we know it's bad, we know it better than you do, but there's nothing we can do about it. I get abused on a daily basis by customers who can't find any staff to help them or wrong prices, or not being able to find items it says we have in stock, it's because everytime someone leaves they don't get replaced anymore, they simply expect everyone else to cover their workload, and they've stretched us to the absolute limit. And we know why, our managers get bigger bonuses if they save more money on the store budget. So please, when you have a problem, ask to speak to a manager, they deserve every ounce of abuse they get.

Home Depot and Lowe’s are insane with their prices.  If they would lower their prices, then more people would do DIY projects around their house and actually enjoy the process and keep doing more projects.  Instead, the prices of each little item in a project is soo expensive that it’s not worth doing some projects anymore.

1:11 , for those view that don’t understand the 99, 98 and 95 and there’s a few others designate the status of the item how new it is and how soon it will go on clearance. It is not actually a discount per se. It is item aging.

I always change my water hookups and dryer vent. They do that because they are responsible if the hookup fails and causes fire or water damage. Be glad they do that. Because most places don't clean the dryer vent that goes outside of the house. That is the reason for most house fires. My rental property hadn't cleaned ours for 20 years. My laundry room walls were SWEATING when I just moved in and used my NEW DRYER. I called the leasing company and they came out to clean it. There was so much impacted lint in the outside vent that it was insane. He said that's easily 20 years of not being cleaned. Please clean your lint trap and the outside vent.

5:18 this must be the first time this guy ever bought a new appliance. It's pretty common that you need to match the power cord to whatever your receptacle needs.

It's time for EVERYONE who encounters these issues at LOWES or any other store. Collect the items for purchase at price listed, once price changes at register just say no thanks, leave it there and walk out. They will have to put it back themselves. Now imagine if enough people do that across the country, all stores would struggle

I can tell you, the workers do not care if you return, or how much you spend. Telling them those things won't make you get your way. HOWEVER, if the price of something is marked then it should have been adjusted by the worker. If the worker couldn't do it, a manager should have. If both refused then leave. I agree with that, they just don't care how much someone spends a year/day/month/week. They just don't.

19:41 - The sad part is that she trusted her local home store.  And turns out the store employees were good, but the corporation owned by Blackrock are not.  We had the same problem where I used to work back in the 90s.  We were a credit monitoring service.  The sales team in Chatworth CA would call you and sign you up for things whether you wanted it or not.  They told the customer they have a 30-day free trial, requiring them to call and cancel, or else they will automatically get billed.  They sent out so many envelope mailers that had the same gimmick on it, with different promotions to offer "free" things.  We in customer service in TX were doing a great job trying to keep everything working normally, never scheming our customers.  But the sales team in CA was destroying our reputation.  And they didn't have to take the calls.  It all stayed in TX.  Nothing ever was forwarded over to the executive leadership in CA.  This is now what we all need to do since big corporations are buying everything up, and our current administration is just allowing it, praising them for doing so.  Remember, there's nothing free, and if it sounds too good to be real, it probably is.
