Sure wish my Aussie pup would stay still when I brush him. He thinks its a game!

Your dog is so obedient.. mine will bite the comb, run away.. wanna cry

Good luck to all the matted quarantine pups and their owners!!

For me the problem is the tugging... She gets mad at even the slightest pull on the skin😩

good tip but heck, if my dog was that calm almost any method would work well..

My dog doesn't let me brush him throughout the week and becomes violent, so he tends to mat up. Gonna try this. Wish me luck

I started to zone out and picture the hair as the back of someone’s mullet lmao

My dog won’t sit there to allow me to do that.😩

I just cut the knotted hair...more easier😄 my dog hates brushing!

This could be great if my Shi Tzu pup isn't so playful. We can't make him stay still. 🤣🤣🤣

My shih Tzu hates me brushing him for long periods he gets inpatient will definitely try this he always mats as he loves to roll and gets dirty I always have to bribe him with treats just to get him to stay still 😁

The challenge is not to break out the matte... But to keep the dog steady. XD

This was the best vid so far to help show how to brush them out without it hurting and being frustrated.

You are a lifesaver! My pom has so many knots around his neck from his post-op cone of shame. I thought we were going to have to shave a bunch of his fur to get these knots out. Your method has helped me to thin it out considerably after just one session. It’s gonna take a few sessions. But I’m certain he’ll be fully dematted by the end of the day. Thanks so much for posting!

so helpful ! this whole time i've been dragging a comb through my poms fur and avoided using the slicker brush since she gets scared of it. Didn't realise it was cos i was going in too hard with the slicker brush ! tried using it gently like in the video and the matts slowly came out and my dog miraculously wasn't trying to fight me during the process !

Thanks so much for this clear and informative video! It's great to see how gentle you are with the dog.

Thank you so much for your easy to follow and clear demonstration! I am dog sitting and their pup's fur tangles more than I've ever seen. I was ready to resort to cutting it, but all I needed was to find the right brush and to brush slow and gentle. Now she's beautiful and soft

This video was absolutely fantastic. I have never been able to brush out a mat until I watched this. Thanks!

Always had a tough time with mats. This video is a LIFE SAVED! Gave my dog a bully stick, or something to chew on, and I work my way. She gets bored sometimes then doesn’t want to be brushed again, so I’m combing her out time to time!

That looks a whole lot like what we do.  The puppies get bad mats because we live in the country where there are also lots of burrs.  I also use a detangling spray.  The dogs don't seem to have a problem with it, and we all like scent. :)
