Frank Galli  has been preaching the the accuracy gains of gain twist barrels for years. Its nice to have a little science to back it up. Thank you for the great podcast gentlemen! Can't wait to hear the other test results.

Thanks Speedy and Jeff! Jeff we did talk on the phone a while back about the finish lapping and the gain twist. Again the way we do it... it hasn't been a issue. Later, Frank / Bartlein Barrels

So I have his book and I have read it once and of course have read sections over again . My original thought was this man was sorta arrogant and tried to lose you in his charts and explanations. Now that I see him and hear him , he’s just a brilliant and experienced man whose knowledge is vast . This was awesome. I have a gain twist on my new rifle done by Alex Wheeler. It shoots phenomenal. From now on , all will be gain twist . I’m going to keep re reading his book for sure . I also will attempt to get speedy to do a barrel for me ! 🤞

I’m all for everything jeff wants to share, so get him back on as often as you can!

Jeff Siewert, thats all I had to hear. I'm in!

Thank you Speedy and Jeff for the explanation of gain twist.I picked up a lot of knowledge of what's going on in the barrel during bullet traveling through the barrel. I think the sale of gain twist barrels is going to sky rocket.

I'd love to see Jeff do a presentation on the number of grooves in a barrel, and their effects on dispersion and other factors. It SEEMS like odd numbers are better, which is odd, because the same pattern shows up in machining with the number of flutes on and endmill. It SEEMS like it easier to find a "sweet spot" or there are more of them, or they are wider and more forgiving with odd numbers of grooves/ flutes.

After that, I'd love to see him do one on rifling geometry(polygonal, metford, "R", enfield, standard, ect....)

Joe Carlos (gunsmith) from the Army Marksmanship Unit has a series of articles on the "free library" under "Carlos,Joe" concerning gain twist barrels.

Super fascinating discussion. Love it when people bring both modeling and practical data. Its both excellent and (sadly) rare!

The Man and the Boss. Whew. I will watch again in the morning. Great stuff gentlemen

Good science 🍻✌️

This was great. Thanks! I learned more than just the possible benefits of gain twist. I don't think I was paying enough attention to bore straightness in culling barrels before chambering them. I have noticed that the barrels with the least muzzle run out when I dial in the bore at mid chamber to lead in do tend to shoot smaller.

Great information. Thanks Speedy & Jeff!

I've got my popcorn and my note pad!

One of our friends in Canada was telling me about his "progressive twist" barrel, something like 28 years ago.... Funny.

Polygonal with gain twist, lapped then Melonite treated sounds good to me, but I don't know for sure 😂

Love the T-shirt. Nou Laai dit!

Interesting video. An annotation regarding the springs to ground at the barrel: Imagine these are the screws holding the barrels to the stock (via the receiver). They are some kind of stiff, but the metal can be stretched too - like a spring.
The theory about reason for the better precision because of the constant contact may be verified with a constant twist but variing land width barrel. This eliminates the twist variation of the equation.

HMMMM

I think I just figured out why I have better luck with Hammer solids over all the other solids..
I'll be damn

Good stuff boss as always! Hope to see you later this year my fri
