I was on a range in Florida with Moe.  He was 70 or 71 at the time.  I don’t know how you could hit it any better.  Moe was pure perfection. 🇨🇦💝🙏🥰 RIP Moe.

This looks like the Moe Norman single plane swing

Rory’s tip is a Moe Norman principle.  He thought of it as one long rod his front arm and the club… and of course he was known for the single plane.

I have used the Graves Golf Single Plane and it WORKS!!  My handicap is now 16.2. All due to adopting the single plane…it works

Rory also says - maybe in a separate clip - that he is much more consistent after he shortened his driver shaft. The fact that the player that maybe is the best driver of the ball not always chase longer and longer drives is probably something to every golfer to think about. Maybe it’s better to hit consistent 260 y drives around fairway rather than sometimes 285 y in the woods or water 💦 hazard.

Moe Norman single plan swing i’ve done this for long time always produces great drives

Moe Norman springs to mind 😊

If you start with the clubhead a foot behind the ball...it`s spot on 🙂🙂

Great stuff Andy. Where did you buy the trousers

great tip thanks

I'm actually doing somewhat the opposite, and it has helped my driving. I now swing more upright and let my lead arm bend a little which creates a snapping motion at the bottom. The single plane puts a lot of stress on my lower back. Experiment and find what works best for you. Thanks for the video.

This is the key to faster swing speeds.

Twenty swings. Take 20 swings starting with a medium-slow speed to get warm and make each swing after just a little faster. Judge speed by the sound of the club. The higher the speed, the higher the pitch of the sound. And note where the sound comes from too. This is something I had to figure out for myself because there was no internet back then, but where the sound is is important.

For a right handed golfer if you hear it more from the right, you're releasing early. When you hear the sound more left you're releasing later. It's the kind of instant feedback we need and it works flawlessly. And it will help guide you to faster speeds as you keep at it.

Since it's normal to doubt, I'll defend it. First, I've heard both Bryson and multiple long drive champions give the advice to simply practice swinging faster. And exactly like with the advice above they have said you don't need a ball to do that. Now, I'm not saying practicing swinging faster while hitting a ball isn't good too. Not at all. I'm just saying that I personally have done the above and saw very good results.

And second, one of the main drawbacks to golf swing practice is feedback. In this case there is more than enough and you get it instantly. You can do it in a sim with balls or you can just swing. No ball needed. Personally, if you're serious I'd do both. But the 20 swings is enough. Do that every day for awhile and you will see a speed increase. You will learn to time the release well to take maximum advantage of the leverage you have available. All it takes it a bit of perseverance. A pro can teach you faster one on one, but you don't need one just to gain a bit of speed you already create and you just aren't harnessing well enough.

BTW, it's also a great tip to hitting a good drive off the first tee when you couldn't warm up properly. Do the drill, then step to the tee box and swing your normal swing. Just hit the ball. Don't try and kill it. Just take your swing and you'll find that your swing speed came up just from finding those levers again first.

I'm a big fan of eliminating extra movement in the golf swing. Each time I work to simplify I am always a happy ball striker!

Bryson DeChambeau uses this method called The Single plane Swing

Well done Andy 👍 perfect explanation in my opinion

Ok, I’m saving this one. Both tips are brilliant, simple, and easy to replicate.
Thanks for the great advice 👍

Look up Moe Norman.

One of those things that varies by person I think. I now set up that way w. the driver, but position the driver head a few inches behind the ball, because i think your setup should emulate the contact position and you want to hit up a bit with driver. This stopped me from hitting it left and my weight wasnt set up too much on the left side, but I think this is one of the best tips ever

Just got back from the range and wish I'd watched before I went.  I'll definitely give this a try next time out.  My driver has been pretty shoddy lately (but I did get my 3rd lifetime ace yesterday!).  My good drive is right at 200 yds.  I'm constantly searching for a way to eek out a little more and still stay near the fairway.  Looking forward to trying this!
