From bone-snapping trees to organs-dissolving mushrooms... Nature is truly ruthless! 😱 Out of these 10, which killer plant terrified you the most? Comment below—I’m replying to everyone today! 👇

Nature can be beautiful and brutal at the same time.

The autumn crocus is scary.  We had crocus in our garden when I was a child.  Along with wood hyacinth and lily of the valley, iris, roses and tulips, columbine.  I used to pick the lily of the valley and play with the other flowers.  I don't know of any of the adults knew of the damgers.  Oh, we had a large lilac bush and poppy plants, too.  The house was over 100 years old and the garden was definitely from a different era.

Cuckoo pint is another plant we were warned about as poisonous as kids.

Wolfsbane also known as monkshood and aconite. It is probably the most dangerous plant here since sensitive people can die just by smelling it.

Strychnine, because the death is so violent.  All of these plants are horrific.

When in doubt, don't muck about and keep away from them and do not touch.

Monkshood Wolfsbane we have in UK, not seen that often though... Pembroke, Wales was last time I saw it...🤔

The foxglove is safe if you don’t ingest it. Wash your hands after touching it. I contains two essential medications that slow and raise the heart rate. Digoxin and digitoxin. These compounds are used in medicine at the right dose to save lives. We grew up around foxglove as kids and we were instructed at a young age of its dangers.

There's many types of deadly mushrooms like Death Cap and Flying Agaric. Hoping to see a video on mushrooms that shouldn't be eaten.

……#1 death cap mushrooms’ was the poisoning agent used by woman in Victoria, in July 2023, Australia to kill three people, with a fourth only saved by early medical detection, & a liver transplant. The survivor is on much medication for the rest of his life. He was in his early 70’s when poisoned………the murderess is in prison for life………

Long time ago I used giant hogweed sap to make a smiley face on my arm. I wanted to expose it to the sun for like 20 minutes and I forgot about it lol. Lasted for years :D Its a burn but it doesnt hurt much when small.

So you learned something new every day today I learned that Strychnine comes from trees.

I'm commenting b4 watching it completely.. but lilly of the valley is also poisonous as well as the common tomato plants

Most plants are poisonous, some more than others. The few plants which are edible are only "non toxic" because of thousands of years of cultivation or special preparations by humans to leach out the toxins.
Strictly, apple seeds, cherry and peach seeds are poisonous and so are beech-nuts which contain small amounts of cyanide.
Actually wheat... yes the stuff we use to make bread from is toxic too. But the toxicity is minor even for those who are gluten intolerant. But wheat contains many more proteins which cause inflammation in the intestines... nothing to worry about, but ...
the amount makes the toxin.
Tomatoes contain lectins, spinach contains oxalates (it is not healthy at all, it causes kidney stones), potatoes contain Glycoalkaloids which are highly toxic, but they are contained in the above ground berries not the potatoes we eat.
Without agriculture, vegetarians or vegans would not survive very long. because there is literally NOTHING to eat in the forest. All the plant matter we consume is the result of ten thousand years of agriculture. Humans are natural carnivores NOT vegetarians.
Most edible plants of today did NOT exist some 12,000 years ago.

What about Oleander?

Socrates was executed by being forced to drink an infusion of water hemlock

Most Amanita mushrooms are deadly poisonous.

Fungi ‘Mushrooms’ are not plants

Mushroom is not a plant.
