What an absolute pro. Keeping the audience on side, trying to play the script, every fibre of his instinct and experience telling him the show must go on. Take a bow, Lionel.

people who think Ant and Dec are great, this is where they got their ideas from! Noel Edmonds, was amazing and still is!!

The Lionel Blair stare, We use to say that's where my nan got hers from. RIP to you both.

Ah, the good old days when Noel ruled Saturday evenings and HI-FI would pop up unannounced like clockwork!

I miss noels house party...  back when Saturday night tv was more than shitty talent shows

RIP Lionel, this is the first thing I thought of when I heard. What a legend, classic bit of TV history and an Edmunds masterclass.

I've met Vicki Michelle and she is so lovely! Very kind, sweet, gentle lady and she is also the patron of my local theatre.

The Legendary Lionel Blair made this one of the best 'Gotchas' ever.
Absolutely TV Gold !
Rest in peace Sir +

Vicki Michelle what a great performance

I see Lionel Blair on the station where I work, I asked him about this and he assures me 100% that he had absolutely no idea. The audience were also in on it too because they purposely held Lionels cab up to brief them. Timeless hilarious comedy. 😆

I actually remember when this was broadcast. Hilarious at the time - but the main thing was that no matter what random, crazy stuff was dropped on him, Lionel Blair just kept the whole thing together.

I want to go back. I miss those days so much.

The Blair stare!!!

Lionel is always up for a good laugh. He never seemed up his own ego.

Want to feel old?  Lionel Blair is 92 years old now.

Never took himself seriously - was hilarious playing himself in the last episode of Extras.

What a star!!!! A proper, genuine, show must go on… star!!!! Oh, how we were spoiled in the 80s/90s before reality tv kicked in and ruined it all

"Lionel's back!" LMAO!

Absolutely brilliant 😂😂 this is when Saturday night TV was totally fantastic

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mr Blair, absolute pro. No doubt he’s keeping them laughing upstairs .
