A great man & invaluable lesson & method. Easier said than done! The more one goes into the layering of watercolour, the more one learns the complexities! It’s the best media to conquer & never ending! Thankyou 🙏❤️
It is very hard. I assigned myself the exercise of doing 10 of these a day for 30 days. I do them in rapid succession. Tape the paper, execute, stop, remove the paper, ready, execute. I do them small, 4 x 6 or 5 x 7. I'm only a few days in with 40 done and I've already learned a lot. The biggest thing I've learned is that tentative brush strokes cause you to retreat to the reference photo and copy mode; bold strokes won't let you get into copy mode.
I think because Andy does the value study so quickly it seems so easy, but actually at this stage you have to think about all the details you are loosing/keeping. Most of the time it takes me longer to do value study in single colour than mid value colour version. Thank you for sharing!!!!!!!!
