在印度尼西亚，所有学校都必须使用印度尼西亚语，没有专门针对某些语言的学校。不过，该政策并没有区分本地居民和移民，每个人都受到同样的待遇。移民必须融入当地居民。他们可以保留自己的文化，但不能保留自己的语言。您知道吗，印尼有很多华裔，过着富裕的生活。

Larangan berbahasa Mandarin di Indonesia dimulai pada tahun 1967. Namun sejak terjadinya reformasi 1998, orang Tionghoa diperbolehkan lagi belajar bahasa Mandarin, tetapi kondisinya hampir semua orang Tionghoa di Indonesia tidak bisa berbahasa Mandarin

Sherry, I think the old man mixed up between two event: post-1965 and 1998. The chinese school ban was started in the late 1960s. He should be in his early 20s at that time. There was no Chinese school in 1990s and Chinese culture was banned.

Today, Mandarin is allowed to be taught in any school but 32 years Chinese culture ban had a lot of young Chinese disconnected.

Kita yang sudah menjadi warga negara Indonesia tidak boleh merasa berkecil hati karena kita tidak bisa memilih di mana kita di lahir kan .tapi kita juga tidak boleh melupakan di mana leluhur kita berasal.tetap lah banga di mana kamu di lahir kan

If you're looking for a larger Chinatown, try Singkawang City, West Kalimantan Province. I know it's outside Java and not far from Pontianak City, but there the Chinese population is very significant.

I believe there are more natives Indonesian who can speak Chinese than the Chinese Indonesian itself. Around 1 million Indonesian working in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau
