You darn earn this pal, by the way, i'd like to make a scenario like this one with my own story

You understand how catastrophic the situation is when even neutrality cannot save Switzerland

Schools will still stay open

2012 was basically Gen Z's Y2K moment.

Ensuring the survival of humanity by only saving rich "people" is honestly the most depressing this about this movie

Theres a sense of INSANE horror to this i just realised.

They knew for years.
They knew the end of the world is coming and the FUTILITY of telling the population about it.
Jesus christ that is DEPRESSSINGGG!

First we got 1984 then 2012 😭😭

Bros mapping years now

Your boss phones. "You're still coming in right?"

Ah, 2012, the "RANDOM BULLSHIT, GO!" of disaster movies, with about six different disaster movies' worth of madness rolled into one! Looking back at the plot, it's kinda funny how neutrinos are blamed for everything that happens, given that neutrinos are famous for doing pretty much nothing for the vast majority of the time; at this very moment, 100 billion neutrinos are passing through my thumb alone, and the odds of all of them passing through without anything happening is almost 100%; even if one of those 100 billion did happen to hit one of the octillions of atoms that makes up my body, the effects would be pretty much harmless; maybe one atom out of those several octillion might be transformed from one element to another, but that's about it. Now consider the fact that the Earth is being bombarded by a vastly larger amount of Neutrinos constantly, whether a solar flare is ongoing or not, and the fact everything hasn't been magically exploded, shaken to pieces or flooded says a lot about 2012's science! At least the special effects were kinda cool :)

For some more disaster movies that I think could be fun to create maps for, I'm gonna take the opportunity to recommend San Andreas, Sinking of Japan (2006), and, for a nuclear scenario, Countdown to Looking Glass.

I love how you made the unrealistic scenario realistic on a map level

next thing you know: “My Life (MAPPED) (?-2025)”

04:09 Unfortunately, that's not correct. In the film, the catastrophe or the end of the world begins in the summer of 2012, not in December. The film explains this by saying that Adrian made a mistake in his calculations.

“don’t worry, everything will continue on as usual” - schools and companies

the fact that the year after 2012 is labeled as 0001 is so cold

5:28 Ah yes the country of Europe, South America, Asia

0:14 I noticed something wrong with the map. South Sudan is independent, but in reality they weren’t independent until 2011

7:35 - This is inconsistent. If Africa weren't flooded there will be way more survivors (than 400k) of this cataclism. Even in millions of people. Living in the middle of the continental plate for sure such regions wouldn't experience so big earhquakes as in LA and outside of big cities where a lot of infrastructure can kill you, you would survive in the simple african village. Also, how entire continents were flooded with 1.5KM Tsunamis? Many of them would be so high in the middle of the continets hundreds of kilometres ways from shores and for example small town in Alps across Switzerland or Austria are on high altitudes and I am sure that people would escape higher in the mountains. So even outside Africa I am sure that we would find survivors.

1:34 of course they cut nasa and not the military 😭

dude the beat at 5:06 made the video 100% more better holy moly, also being someone who loved watching 2012 as a kid (dont ask) this shit is amazing. keep up ! !

When I was a child I saw this movie and it disturbed me. It was before the date of the supposed end of the world and I was intrigued to know what would happen, and the date arrived and I didn't even realize it.
