PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE and the Legacy of Paul Reubens

Matt Ammar

Come with me as I enter the wacky world of Pee-wee Herman, and celebrate, not only the legacy of Paul Reubens, but the 40th anniversary of Pee-wee's Big Adventure! And, what better way to return to YouTube, than to criticize the sequel, Big Top Pee-wee, and over analyze Pee-wee's Big Holiday?

And what's this? HBO Max has documentary now, Pee-wee as Himself? Could there be any more synergy? At the risk of typing Pee-wee so much that it loses it's meaning, enjoy the Pee-wee video!

Also, be sure to say hi to my cats!

Hey! I'm Matt Ammar, and this is my YouTube video description! You might remember me as the guy who reviewed that terrible Nostalgia Critic review of Pink Floyd The Wall, or the guy who sat through every Illumination and Halloween movie! Either way, I hope y'all sit back, relax, and enjoy my content!

I was lowkey worried you stopped making movie reviews. I did not expect this BANQUET OF A RETURN!

Another thing regarding the 2002 scandal was that there were items that didn't even belong to Reubens that somehow got mixed up with the “evidence” they had against him. They went ahead and removed those items, but it makes you wonder how those items got mixed up in the first place. Something was awry about that.

This year is nightmarish. And when I needed you most... you returned!!!
Please never stop making content. I love your videos and you. I nearly screamed when I found out you uploaded something new!

Fantastic video, and not too late because I'm still coping over here. Not joking, this had some healing power.

Something I love that he did was playing Penguin's dad again, this time on Batman prequel series "Gotham."

Really liked the dino visit bit. I wish I could go and see it myself but the that whole part was a really nice way of seeing it without being there

I loved Pee-wee a lot as a kid and still do. Glad you are still making videos, Matt.

My peewee obsession started in 1985 when I was 2 years old. I broke my collar bone, and the only way they could keep me still for it to heal was if I was watching peewee’s big adventure (it had just come out, and my aunt got a copy on vhs). I watched it non-stop for 6 weeks. I’m now 41. It’s still my favorite movie ever. And everything I genuinely love about myself I can trace back to that movie. My art, humor, style, weirdness, etc…

When I watched the documentary, I cried a lot, but the part that made me really burst was some old footage of paul driving with his boyfriend, and he pretends to pick his nose on camera… every photo of me as a kid is doing that (or doing the peewee dance). Paul was soooo much like me, good and bad. Despite never knowing him, he will always feel like a soulmate. He’s been a huge part of my entire life. More than most of my family even.

Great video. Comforting to find my people on here ;)

Welcome back Matt! The world missed you so much.

As for Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure. It’s one of my favorite comedies of all time and RIP Paul Reubens. He’s one of the reasons why I am today.

6:42 glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks of the Wish You Were Here cover when the Warner Bros. studio lot is mentioned.

I'm so glad I finally got to this video. Pee-Wee really is an icon, and I will forever be grateful to Paul and co. for giving the world such a wonderful character (and a wonderful movie to boot).
