I found that Substack is an absolutely breath of fresh air, a no pressure, slow living platform where you can build genuine connections. You are so correct about the comments that others leave, they are thought provoking, wanting to nurture and connect with other like minded humans. Adore your videos AND your Substack Lucy! ❤

I am an acrylic painter and I’d love for you to do a video about how visual artists are utilizing Substack.

Rencently created a substack and I'm having such fun slowly creating a monthly newsletter rather than trying to fit my slow-paced preferences into the fast past world of other social medias.

Omg, yes!! It reminds me of Tumblr too. I randomly made a new Tumblr about a year ago, and it was so refreshing seeing all blogs and unique posts. Way less stuffy over there. I feel like Substack is a more mature version of it lol

I've been releasing my debut epic fantasy book as a serial on Substack, and it's been a delight! So I'm definitely championing the platform. And for any artists out there— we fiction writers love art! And about half of us hate, hate, HATE a.i. images, so if you're an artist who's just starting out and looking for early commissions, that's a well worth trying. ^,^

Hi! I had three Instagram accounts, and I still have a bad taste in my mouth from having to leave because of AI training and not being able to defend my rights due to Meta’s nonexistent copyright protections. Plus, almost all my artist friends fled from there too. But I don’t want to feel like trusting and being disappointed again... Maybe one day I’ll go take a look… 😅🤔.  Greetings!

Substack is king because you can do whatever you want. And as you said, send it direct to your subscribers.

Really interesting as I am a visual artist but I also love writing. And I think it is also good to have an alternative to Instagram.

I just have to take a moment to giggle, I've been avoiding substack for so long now and I got 35 seconds in before immediately knowing you were gonna say substack. Opened the comments n there it is 😂 Guess this is my sign I need to run into my avoidance head on!!!

I already have a Substack, but I’ve kind of neglected it. Your video really encouraged me to get back into it. I now fully understand why it’s so important to have a mailing list to connect with your audience.

The thing is, I don’t really have an audience yet (aside from my family, who truly act like my cheerleaders). So here’s a question for you: how do you build an audience from scratch?
I really appreciate the slow pace , I’m not looking for the fastest way to get subscribers. That’s actually what turns me off about Instagram. Still, do you have any tips for growing beyond those first 5 subscribers? 😅 The more organic, the better 🤗

Also, I just wanted to say I loved this video, and I’m about to binge-watch the rest of your channel. Keep up the amazing work!

Substack has ai training turned on by default

Gonna give this a shot, thx for the inspiration! Been looking for a different outlet

This was really informative, just found your channel by chance, but I subscribed and I started a substack, I'll try it out because I like the way you described it and it seems like somewhere I really would want to be to share my art and other things :). Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

Your video covered a lot of ground without feeling overwhelming. Thank you 🙏

This was so inspiring, thanks

I love Substack!

Hey you talk with so much rhythm. And you shoot notes around too in the end of phrases. I could definitely make a song out of your speech. So good to listen to your videos.

I heard about Substack from a New Yorker. I'm Barbadian and an author and I am a bit exhausted from all of the social media content and need the energy to keep up, but this does sound interesting!!

Subscribed to your Substack. Definitely going to look into this for myself. Thanks again for the insights ✨
