The way my depression would be cured to be able to get this kind of food at the corner store. Cries in American

I traveled from Los Angeles to Tokyo this June, and from the moment I got off the plane and headed to the hotel, I had a feeling this place would be more suitable for living than Los Angeles. The short 10-day trip allowed me to experience how polite the citizens are and the service in the shops is also stunning. What also shocked me was the cost of living; especially in restaurants of the same level, the prices were half or even cheaper than half than in Los Angeles, plus without the 10% tax and tips. I still remember once when I left about 5 dollars as a tip after eating ramen, a young waitress chased me out to tell me that I had left some money on the table. I plan to live in Japan after I retire it's my dream country.

As someone who is always excited to go to the supermarket when I'm travelling to see what's different, Japan's convenience stores look like an absolute dream. I could spend weeks in there wow

Personally, I really miss the old vlogs, I am not extremely interested in food, I am interested in Dooby

Hi! I am Japanese girl living in Tokyo. Thank you for visiting! Your Japanese is so good!! I give you surprising fact. For business week days still 50% of people eat at home or bring their home cooked bento…! For dinner most people cook at home. I saw this stats from yesterday news :)

Doobs. i really miss ur simple old style vlogs like these, simple yet so quality, just giving Dooby + food. personally i prefer this style of classic , humorous videos than the other 48h or 100h food adventure ones. we want more Dooby being dooby content like this

really loved the voiceover kind of video. I think you tackled it perfectly only saying the essential in the store, but left the completely necessary jokes for the voiceover

As a Japanese who have been watching your videos for over two years now, I’m so happy too see you enjoy all the food in convenience stores here!

FYI, what you called agedashi tofu (dofu) is actually called atsuage, and what you called inari is called abura age. Both agedashi tofu and abura age are the same in that they are deep-fried tofu, the difference is abura age is thinner and fried longer.
Agedashi tofu is the name of the dish as you explained; fried tofu with dashi broth or soy sauce. And inari or inari sushi is abura age simmered in kinda sweet broth and stuffed with vinegar rice.

By the way your Japanese is actually really good and sounds so cute! Looking forward to your vlog next week!!

I had that 7-11 Miso soup almost every morning. Highly underrated.

It means a lot to me as a Japanese that you came to Japan and introduced our food to the world. Thank you🤍

It is not curry ramen but this is MISO ramen. That’s why you didn’t taste curry. Nissin Curry ramen has a logo saying “Curry”.

Reading some comments that say they prefer the vlogs and I just want to say that I support your process, your evolution, and your health and happiness above all else, Tina!!! It’s interesting thinking that some of your greatest work may have been created during times when you felt at your lowest. It’s kind of beautiful 🥲 and beautiful that people (like me) related to you; you helped us feel a little more OK.

As you continue to carve your own path, I just wanna say keep doing you. You resonate with so many people because you do things your way, believing in your unique style and vision. I hope you follow your joy, wherever it may take you! Even if that’s away from YouTube. I just send you best wishes! ❤ As my mom says, life is an unfolding 🌹

I lived in Japan for 7 months around 6 years ago. I still miss Lawsons Carbonara pasta. It’s literally better than some I ate at restaurants here in the Netherlands xD

So good Tina, loved it. This style of long form food documentary you have been doing recently has been truly beautiful. Loved every bit of your Vietnam and Philippines trip.
