There are number of extraordinarily good automotive channels to watch though Tyrrell’s Classic Workshop for me is in a class of its own. Seeing and hearing the inside/out details of the extraordinary cars is sheer joy. This E-Type video a gem.

I was taken to school as a school boy in my dad's Minerva blue E-type. How lucky was I.

To me the E- type Fixed Head Coupe is still one of the most beautiful shapes in the world, and the convertible not far behind. In late 1961 when I was 14, I was fortunate enough to be in the passenger seat of the first E-type convertible delivered in Rhodesia, when the owner,  a tobacco farmer, took delivery of his car from Sager Motors in Salisbury..  My father was a friend of the owner, hence the offer to let me go for a short drive with him as he drove out of the showroom. It was only  short drive down to the local Farmers Co-op, but it has stayed with me forever.
Not long after that, the Maths teacher at our boarding school 100kms east of Salisbury bought an E-type fixed head coupe in old English white with red upholstery. It was garaged at the back of the school close to the tractor and trailer used on the school estate. Johnny G. as the Maths teacher was called, also used to coach tennis, so most afternoons he would pile his racquets and tennis balls in the back of the E-type and drive the short distance down to the tennis courts. Again a picture I can never forget.
Some students were lucky enough to be given a lift from Johnny G. from Marandellas to Salisbury and often told stories of seeing the speedometer exceeding 100mph on what was a fairly narrow two lane road used by slow moving trucks and frequented sometimes by slowing moving cattle!

I think y'all should put together a video full of clips of you trying to get in and out of various cars.

The final scene "getting into the car" was hilarious.  This would probably be better driven with the top down for you--as it would ease your entry efforts...LOL!  What's even more interesting, is wondering what you would look like trying to get out of it at a restaurant with valet carparkers...LOL!  Beautiful Jaguar E-Type.  Well-done!  I'm a long-time Jaguar owner and these E-Types are forever gorgeous machines.

I bought a series 1 E-Type in 1973. It was a joy to drive. The brakes performed flawlessly. The sychromesh was gone on first gear (it was a late series 1 so it did have a full synchro) and the rust got to it pretty badly. You are right,  it leaked like a seive when it rained. On the highway, it got 21 mpg when driven fairly vigorously. Sorry to say,  I had to sell it for a song a few years later when I needed money for my rent.

That last minute was hilarious. One of the fellows here bought a Morgan a few years ago and I filmed him getting into it using the same yoga that Iain used here.

Well, I’ve officially seen more of Iain than I ever wanted to😳😎.

i wonder how many owners of these magnificent cars never get to realize their full potential, because they lack access to a technician with the understanding and sensitivity of the fine tuning as you.
with that being said, my first hand experience with this car was in high school around 1973 when a buddy bought one for hardly nothing because the owner couldn’t find good service to keep it running properly . he worked on it himself with no experience or mentor. and in the U.S. there were no dealerships in our area for support. i don’t remember any bad traits his car revealed , and i was fortunate that he took me along for many drives just because i shared his love of this divine machine.

Jaguar was very old fashioned in their production methods even up until the early 1990s , especially when compared to the Japanese, so used to their 1st time fit / finish. My 1st job ( late 1970s) was in the sales office at Fry’s Metals ltd. They used to supply Jaguars at Browns Lane , Coventry several thousand kgs of body lead a month! When Sir John Egan was appointed as Chairman he addressed all the production and suppliers for better tolerance, which reduced the consumption of body lead to around 400 kgs per month. They still used it on the XJS to smooth the B post into the roof line . When the XJ40 came into production , quality very much  improved, then when Ford took over again 1st time fit / finish improved still, but when I worked for an interior trim manufacturer, ( early - mid 1990s) I attended Jaguar as well as Toyota and Honda to address quality issues , you could could still see Jaguar was not as effective as the Japanese, but somehow I think that made them more characterful cars.

I really appreciate your ability to laugh at yourself—and to do so in such a likable way, Iain. So, you managed to get it on the road after all! It’s a beautiful car. I’m looking forward to the test drive when you really open up the throttle. Cheers
