LOL. My conservative-leaning mother who went to private Catholic school PRAYS for a nice gay or lesbian couple to move in every time there's a vacant house near her.
"They take such good care of their homes and landscaping, and are very nice and respectful neighbors." :)
Her mother, my grandmother, had a gay neighbor right before she died, and despite being a devout Catholic, the two of them had a great relationship where she was kind of the guy's second mother. They would look after each other's pets (which was mostly her looking after his dog), or sit out on the swing and have long conversations. I do know she said one or two things about being gay being wrong to him. But she also would drop the subject and the two of them had a good relationship revolving around other things.
What both ladies cared more about was the appearance of the neighborhood and the safety of the children (and neither of them thought GLBT people were some kind of inherent danger).
Please, please move in on my mom's street. She'll bake you cookies and be so very, very happy you've come in and cleaned up the place.
5:01 my parents never cared what I wore. Mum gave up trying to put me in a skirt when I was 10! I was 20 when I chopped my hair off short. Mum did not care. I was 11 the first time I went bob cut. The only time mum has gotten me in a dress her wedding to my stepdad when I was 19 and my prom dress that was it.
