PLEASE stop using the name of a CONTINENT to refer to only one single COUNTRY in it. "America" is a huge continent that extends all the way from Northern Canada and Alaska to the Southern tip of Patagonia and Tierra de Fuego. Columbus came to America on FOUR occasions and NEVER ever set foot on what is now US territory. Let me reiterate this: Columbus came to America FOUR TIMES and was not ever in what is now USA. Then, the Europeans called the new continent where he had been "America". Now..., what does this tell you about the real meaning of the name "America"???!!!! 🙂  Give your country a proper name already! It is not anyone else´s fault if you´ve decided to call it "The United States of a CONTINENT”, is it? Consider this: if France had decided to call itself "United Provinces of Europe", would you then only call France "Europe"? How do you think the people in the rest of Europe would react?
