With the rear having a clean bill of health itsit's time to tackle the front brakes. I have already done the right side so we show the left on this one.

That bike looks like it's been ridden in Alaska for 25 years without a water hose in sight.

Take my hat of to you fella. Same bike as you. Just had braided brake lines fitted to mine. Going to get my calipers professionally done and completely refurbished. Admire people who do these jobs themselves.

Based on the condition of your bike, you really need to take apart the entire brake system and clean/replace all parts. Mine is 22 years old and I just rebuilt my rear caliper and am working on a spare secondary master cylinder from the left front which feeds the middle piston on the rear caliper.
