Creatures live beneath the closed city of Lesogorsk; they emerge through garbage pits and speak in human voices. Electrician Ilya Sokolov discovers this in the basement of an ordinary five-story building when someone starts calling for help from a chimney.
This is the first part of the terrifying story "The Lower Ones. The City That Fed Them." It tells the story of a secret enterprise, an underground colony, and a night when the lights went out throughout the entire city.
