I've had root canals and crowns on nearly all my teeth. I've gotten fillings without novocaine. I had an abscess for a year before my whole face ballooned, and my parents finally took me to a dentist.  The worst trauma, the only one that made me tear up, was having a poorly placed implant post removed. I'm so glad there are channels like this to warn and educate patients.

Dentistry … First a dentist has to have love …… for people … then he must have a gift for engineering … and a mind for creating … also dexterity and an understanding of the healing process  in the human body … if your dentist doesn’t have any of these things … Run 🏃‍♀️

It is so sad that dentistry has gotten so expensive that it makes it impossible for people to get a service. But to hear and read people paying 20 to 40 grand for a botched job is frightening. I too am contemplating implants.  I am glad that there is information out there. But it's sad there are hacks out there as well.

I say start with an implant bridge at first. Or marry a dentist. Lol. Or win the lottery. Because if they fail, most folks don’t have that kind of money.

I hope they reported and fought for some reimbursement from whoever did this hack job at first this is so upsetting. Glad you were able to help them!

I am in that position now, i feel let down and insecure

Wanna hear a nightmare, I had my implants removed a sinus lift and was supposed to do bone graft the guy removes my implants then drops a screw i to my sinus and pushes it into my eye socket while trying to retrieve it past my protective barrier orbital bone. It's still there today. On top of that despite numerous detailed conversations about what they would give me they told me volume and only valuum and gave me ketamine and valuum and had a powerful hallucination but didn't know why I was seeing what I was seeing. Woke up from a ketamine hallucination only to be told about the screw and taken by ambulance to the ER it was horrific.

I feel her pain, you trust a dentist to install an implant then you find out they F up, and now you need to spend more money and more pain to correct it. and the first dentist is not liable for any of it. should be a law against this.

Why is everyone talking like the patient isn’t there? This has got to be a nightmare for her. So important to do your research. It’s better to travel to see an excellent doctor so mistakes aren’t made.

WHY are you talking to the husband instead of the patient who is experiencing the problems???

I’m not a doctor or dentist, but when the husband mentioned her peridontal disease and bone loss, my intuition said she’s not even a good candidate for implants.  I think there are some people who just are not good candidates for dental implants, for many reasons, and patients should be willing to look at the whole picture and proceed with the best solution for THEIR anatomy…even if it’s dentures, partials or something other than implants, instead of trying to force implants.
    Just my thoughts.

My implants were a nightmare!

I was scared for a long time just to get them because of allergies to tickle.  Other dentists says I couldn't get them.  I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and allergic to milk. I went to a dentist that had implants in same place. I got  a consultation and told me that I was good and ensured everything was good. Told me after I got them I had very soft bone so I took a lot of vit d and calcium. Im on my second fitted tempories and if they aren't right they resccan and make adjustments. I only had my tops done with 5 implants. So far so good. Once they are good then the finals will be

It’s a nightmare, avoid all on 4 or 6, etc. if you have any teeth where the roots are solid then just use them for veneers and bridge any missing teeth. This way you don’t have the bulky back of the bridge and the gap between the gum line and the bridge. I wish I could remove mine to clean them. Also the cost of cleaning them is ridiculous, just to remove 4 screws. Bridge over veneer crowns feels natural, unlike all ons

Fantastic, informative content! This single video provide SO MUCH INFORMATION about these types of implants than almost anything on youtube. "FOR ME" after doing so much research on what path I wanted to go, I decided on going with upper dentures instead of implants. Very happy and came to my own personal understanding that implants are not for everyone. Appreciate you Dr!!!

Poor lady shame on the dentist who did that to her and now just to have to go through that again and more money  hopefully dr choi and his staff will be able to help her 😊
