This was around the time the industry started hating on Ross. She kept herself in shape, and for decades put out good music, albums, and movies. As soon as she made a few mistakes, they did their best to push her out and replace her, but she irreplaceable. Long live the goddess, Diana Ross!

I do not know Diana personally, but I do like her for her talent and for the person she has shown herself to be. What woman, in this day and age, can raise ONE child, let alone FIVE, successfully? Five children who love their mother so very much and protect her as they do? How can anyone be such a fake and fraud in public, and not be the same at home? I saw this interview when it first aired  and  can't thank Diana  Ross enough showing her interllectual side as well as her fun side  and s little business. Acumen, full of class, style, finesse ,sense of humor ,and down to earth sense of self  just love this woman

Correct! Barbara is being smart when she is pressing her lips together & nodding sarcastically, but unassumingly. Thus, Diana smartly zings her back unassumingly....so if I am a bitch, then so are YOU! In that era being Black & having a massive crossover appeal could get you disliked by some of your own for being not culturally authentic. Conversely, those in the dominant culture have felt as though she was challenging them & their ego. Yet, Diana can handle herself.
