im glad that we're at a point now where porting the fictional GT tracks to other games via mods is doable, because it opens up the possibility of recreating the layouts that were never finished + opening up the layouts that were cut off (such as the matterhorn layouts). its just a case of if someone is willing to put the time into making that

I like the random GT yapping, roof waffle

some people think of more layouts as unnecessary padding but really i just love it when a track gives you so many choices

Roflwaffle is god tier dinner watch content

3:40 The funny thing is that this Bugatti race track was never featured in any Gran Turismo game, but many scenes for the Gran Turismo movie were filmed there.

There's a pretty old theory where SSR5 and 11 can be connected to become one giant track. Both tracks have a hairpin that goes under a bridge, and the general scenery around those turns seems to match as well. I'd love to see that become reality in some form, maybe as a mod for some other game, SSR tracks are some of my favorite tracks in the series.

My favorite unused layout is the original Laguna Seca layout from the 60s. It was just a massive segment that went around every turn, leading up to the corkscrew, then keeping turns 7-9.
It's in the newest Forza, but it needs to be in more games.

EDIT: I know it's against the rules set up in the beginning, but I don't care. I just wanna see it in more games. I love extremely fast intermediate courses.

22:28 captions mention GTA 6 😂

Fun fact Matterhorn was initially was going to just be a rally track. Images of the rally variant was seen in the files of GT5 and GT6. The rally layout can be driven on a prerelease build of GT5 known as "1609 UK Demo".

Imagine a free roam map for every major circuit

Great video. :) I'd love to see a follow up that talks about the historic sections of various circuits!

GT3 also pads the length of the game by using the ludicrous full track layouts even with slow cars.

The comment about Matterhorn being a freeroaming map could've been a unique take on the Simulation Mode's menu. Where instead of having icons you hover over and select, these icons instead are physical stores and garages you go and drive to on the full Matterhorn map yourself to access them. And the road itself would double as the test course as you get around the map to feel how the car drives and what changes could be made to suit your driving style.

A lot of these seem pretty reasonable to add! I imagine if they did, their social media posts about the update would still be full of unappreciative comments but I would certainly enjoy them!

Did you know that Opera Paris was originally gonna be longer than it is? In the 2003 GTC Lupo Cup Training Version 1 demo, hidden in its files is a very early Opera Paris still under development, with its map being drastically different and longer than the Opera Paris we have in final GT4. https://youtu.be/fsbB2FC_RPA?si=yGkTq54n110i4viU&t=2055

It's a real shame the original Paris Tarmac layout was cut in favor of the Opera Paris we know tbh. Try to match the beta layout in google maps and you'll know, it's interesting really. If I were Polyphony I would have kept the original layout while having the final layout as Opera Paris Short Track or something like that.

Eddy Gordo Tekken 3 stage BGM for the intro was such a good choice.

11:48 What do you mean, "That used to be what Silverstone looked like?" Absolutely needs to make an appearance.

@6:38 No, no, no, it was his loafers driving him around. 😂
