The 88 is the best year for power I heard. I have an 89 that I spent close 3k in for everything that included rebuilt top end, a used expansion chamber, new hoses, radiators, new bearings in swing arm, and shocks. I got it running and it lacks power. Maybe power valves, maybe needs new bore - too much clearance. Not sure what to do next.
As soon as I saw the blue fenders and the yellow coolant lines, I knew that bike has been thru at least 11 owners. Most of whom were probably 15 year old hillbillies. Zip ties and missing key parts. If you even paid $200, you paid too much. Thing is total junk. However, the cat is awesome.
