High in the Carpathians, almost a kilometer high, among the fir trees lies water that locals are afraid to enter. It is so transparent that on a windless day you can see the bottom. And under the water, straight black trunks appear - an entire forest that stands below the surface. That is what it is called - the Sea Eye of the Carpathians. This is Lake Synevyr, the largest and deepest mountain lake in the Ukrainian Carpathians. And before admiring the postcard, you should understand one thing: it is not just a beautiful mirror. It is a silent safe that collects everything that these mountains have dropped, drowned, hidden or lost forever for thousands of years. This is not just a video about a beautiful lake. This is a descent to its bottom - thirteen secrets, from a sunken forest to the quietest of all catastrophes. Because Synevyr preserves better than land: in icy, oxygen-free water, wood does not rot, but darkens and turns to stone; and the mountains around have for centuries allowed shepherds, rafters, opryshki, smugglers and armies of three empires to pass through them - and each one left something here.

The main question: why exactly here, in this point of Transcarpathia, have so many mysteries gathered - and which of them are true and which are legends? We will analyze all thirteen: from how a landslide gave birth to a lake in one second, to how it quietly disappears one day. And until the last mystery, I promise, a chill will run down your spine.

This video will have everything: a forest that stands with black trunks at the bottom and does not rot ·
a lake born from a mountain collapse approximately eleven thousand years ago ·
a belief about a "bottomless" bottom and invisible underground cracks · a bitter legend about
Syn and Vyr, from whose tears the lake supposedly grew · Bokorashi - desperate
forest rafters whose craft killed · why the water of Morske Oko is so dark,
clear and cold · Glukhanya swamp that "swallows" people and feeds on insects ·
a rehabilitation center for brown bears broken by man · a quiet lake-dual
that shows the future of Synevyr · Mykola Shugay, "who was not hit by a bullet" ·
a unique hydroelectric power station with an entire river flowing through the mountain · the blood of the 20th century and
Carpathian Ukraine · and the slowest mystery - an eye that will one day
close.

💬 Which of these thirteen stories impressed you the most: the forest under water; the tears that grew into a lake; the deadly craft of the Bokorash; the opryshok that was not hit by a bullet; or the fact that the lake is slowly disappearing right now? Write a number in the comments - I read everything.

Synevyr is beautiful precisely because it is silent. It does not explain what lies at its bottom, why the water is so cold, how many people have not returned from these rivers and how many years the lake itself has left. Hutsuls have always treated it as a living being - as an eye that sees everything. A person can be forbidden to touch this water. Time cannot be forbidden.
