I have secure attachment and find avoidant people annoying when they ghost and find that anxious people come on way too strong too fast. I’m very confident but I like this video because it’s helpful. On the flipside, I admire the independence of avoidant people and the loyalty of anxious people. I find secure attachment people like me frustrating to other attachment styles because we have trouble relating with other attachment styles outside of secure attachment, but the good thing about secure attachment is that we’re confident and good at having healthy relationships

Anytime I see "independent" or "ambitious" on a dating app I immediately swipe left.

I’ve noticed that these styles really show themselves when life presents external stressors, like bad health, bad job, money issues, or family strife. Until then, most people think they are a Secure.  Observe your partner when they are under stress. That’s who they really are.

The other problem is that avoidant partner doesnt recognize the blind spot as much as an anxious attachment style.  Both styles are not showing up for the relationship -  the avoidant think sits a sign of independance and look at the anxious attchment partner as weak but the avoidant syle is also a sign of weakness and not showing up.  Both are actually codependant - Its just two sides of the same core wound that both are protecting.  All you can do is walk away and heal up and find someone who is more secure unless you can get her to see her blindspot which is super difficult because the avaoidant doesnt take criticism well.  In fact if you want to drive an avoidant CRAZY - tell her she doesnt trake criticism well 🤣

Spot on. I was married for 19 years and struggled. This attachment style wore me out and I finally filed for divorce. Once she had her “independence “ then she wanted to get back together.

Yeah you really have to tip toe around Avoidants like walking on eggshells.
You have to take the pressure off her and put it all on yourself... great strategy boys.

Btw you can be totally secure attachment and an anxious or avoidant can make you anxious over time. It’s just human nature. It’s not a mistake you’re making…it’s a sign to leave and find another woman lol

Some actually ARE serial daters.  There's a lot of data to back that up.  If someone has tonsss of past relationships that were short-lived they're likely avoidant because they're chasing that "honeymoon phase" then move on immediately once commitment is expected.

The question is: why? It feels like too much hassle for very little in return.

There is also disorganized attachment, which is a combo of anxious and avoidant.  This style can lean more anxious or avoidant.

It seems like Avoidant women are incredibly rare. I didn't know anything about avoidant attachment until I started dating one. They are wired socially different than the vast majority of women. Avoidant women are challenging, intriguing, and addicting. I really enjoyed watching this video! Thanks!
