I would give anything to go back in time and see how people reacted to this. The stories are amazing. Would be so awesome to see this today's eyes.

In the mid-1970s there was a two-part made for TV movie called "Frankenstein: The True Story". It stars Leonard Whiting, James Mason, David McCallum, Jane Seymour, and Michael Sarrazin (as the monster).

Dwight Frye was "Renfield" in the 1931's "Dracula" before playing "Fritz" in "Frankenstein" later that year... And He was Perfect in Both Parts...

Some of the lab equipment in this movie was used in Young Frankenstein

Henry Frankenstein was supposed to die at the end of this, but test audiences didn't like that ending, so it ended with him injured, but recovering.

Got to be in my top 5 favourite horror films of all time. Fantastic film.

I realize that this was two years ago, @screamqueenshorrorpodcast, but I thought I would mention that the character of the lab assistant Ygor isn't introduced till the third film in this series, "Son of Frankenstein." He's played in that film, and afterward, by Bela Lugosi. "Young Frankenstein" is mostly a parody of "Son of Frankenstein," but also spoofs elements of the second film, "Bride of Frankenstein," which is generally considered the best of the three. It parodies this one the least of the three.
