Thank you for watching.
As we head into late May, the days are becoming warmer and brighter.
Today, I’d like to share how I spend a peaceful solo day at home, embracing the transition into early summer.
I baked a sweet and tangy Weekend Citron cake for the weekend and made homemade lemon syrup using my favorite KINTO glassware. A glass of refreshing, fizzy lemon soda is just perfect for quenching my thirst on a warm day.
I also want to share a lovely new hobby that has recently brought joy to my life: spending time with my "Chabako" (a traditional Japanese tea box). Packing my tea utensils into this small box and whisking a bowl of matcha wherever I like brings a wonderful sense of calm and mindfulness.
To end the day, I enjoyed a quiet dinner by myself while my husband was away. I made our family-favorite Kansai-style Okonomiyaki (savory pancake). Using convenient grated mountain yam makes it extra fluffy, and searing the pork belly until crispy on both sides makes it absolutely delicious.
Taking the time to gently brighten my own mood and enjoying everyday life just a little more mindfully—I hope you enjoy spending this slow, quiet day with me.
Please take good care of yourself in the changing weather, and have a beautiful day.
Thank you for watching!
