Maybe if Cardmarket expanded to North America, TcgPlayer would be forced to improve because of competiotion.

The new tcgplayer search is abysmal. They introduced multiple points of failure to do something as simple as sorting cards within a single set.

eBay trying to turn TCGplayer into eBay wasn’t going to work, who could’ve guessed? 😂

The listing on foreign cards under English cards is one of the biggest gripes that they refuse to fix. Especially since cart optimization favors them. Some of these sellers out there are just preying on people who uses it and sell their cheaper, unplayable cards at a markup (Yugioh, One Piece). Even when TCGplayer added a whole Japanese section for Pokemon, the sellers will still list foreign cards under the English label.

Hey there, the little game store in Maine person is me. We stopped selling on TCGPlayer before the pandemic because of increases in fees. (In case of usual cruelty, yes I’ve lost weight but I still have a face for radio)

Having a complete, easily searchable list of every card I have bought (I never trade and rarely buy packs, and as such anything I pull from packs is very memorable) over the past 14 years was an invaluable resource for figuring out what I need to buy to complete a deck without having to constantly update some card collection app.

Hello Justin, I was one one of the organizers and negotiators for the severance agreement. Thank you for your coverage of this important topic. I just wanted to make a small correction about the severance agreement. At 40:00 you say that the union negotiators, in particular, received a bonus, but the ratification bonus was for all of the union employees affected by the layoff. There were 3 union negotiators that were still employed by TCGplayer and were affected by the layoff that received the ratification bonus the same as every other union employee. I just wanted to make that clarification because it was very important to the bargaining committee that every union employee got the same severance package, and we fought very hard to ensure that. It was never a consideration to negotiate a bonus for the negotiators only.

My roommates were some of the first people to organize the union. I remember overnight members being in our kitchen talking about how they could best advocate for themselves in the middle of eBay’s acquisition. Before eBay’s buyout, my friends would talk about how much they Loved the environment— pulling cards from their favorite games to send to across the country, getting to talk about their hobbies freely, playing ping pong or foosball or Commander on their lunch breaks. My friends loved their jobs. eBay hurt a lot of people by firing them to union bust and who now can’t speak out because of those damn NDAs. Hell, I’m worried me commenting is a violation of those NDAs, but I can’t help but say that eBay deserves every ounce of hurt from their decisions to move operations to Kentucky.

I ran a local video game store across the street from the Syracuse fulfillment center, I was there years before TCG and saw the different phases of growth.

They started as a great local company everyone wanted to work at, lots of fun with people raving about what a good workplace it was. I remember even being nervous that the employees at my store might apply across the street and I'd need to find new people 😂... And that fear over time subsided as the praise from the employees diminished... And eventually, the employees there were applying to our store. It was overall sad to see, a once great local company became a place everyone was trying to leave. By the end, many of my favorite people had already left or been unceremoniously fired years earlier.

I can honestly say that this video was far more accurate than i thought. It wasnt until the end that i realized this was from a "smaller" (not really, congrats on 33k) channel. Top notch quality, great sound, excellent reporting, good flow, and enough of a breakup of your choice to not sound monotonous. Great job!

5/6 of the transactions I’ve made using direct have been awful and it’s mostly just scalpers trying to pawn off cards they can’t send to PSA.

We just gonna ignore how you can make a brick & mortar store take a loss for daring to list cheap cards? Order a 25 cent card, 30cent cut to TCG player, then 1.31$ shipping. Resulting in the LGS loosing 1.36$ on sale. In this day an age I have been buying my cards from cardkingdom or starcity when the LGS does not have that card, fully aware I am paying a premium. But Id rather pay a few extra dollars then support TCGPlayer.

Tcg player has really gone down hill sometimes I dont even get results for printings of cards that I own myself, sets like ygo's rarity collections only exposed this blindspot of theirs even more

(Commenting before watching). It's very funny how TCGplayer is dodging unionization by fleeing to my hometown of Louisville. The largest employer in town is the heavily unionized UPS airline.

The korean/asian-english cards thing has been a perpatiual pain in the ass for a while now.  
ive heard part of why the listers do it is so cart optimizer puts them in, people dont notice beyond lower price and boom scammed.
