I compared the Samsung S95F and LG G5 to decide which deserves the top spot in my lounge. Both are flagship 2025 OLED models, but which one is better?

Would you consider buying a matte screen TV?

@LilClarke_89 1 year ago

Thank you for making me more confused.
Great review though.

Mate, there is an easier and much faster way to change input source on the G5. Just push and hold the button, instantly you can select the input.

The returns policy check is really smart, I hope you keep doing it, great thing to consider when making expensive purchases

Hey Mate to swap the inputs on the G5, there is a much quicker way, just push the button beneath the volume button and you can change inputs from HDMI 1 through to 4

That Samsung return policy is a MAJOR deal-breaker. How is that even legal 😅

My LG G5 is being delivered and installed this coming week so nice to hear how my purchase is justified with these kind of videos 😅

Interestingly that’s a Samsung policy. Not just tv. They made me pay to return my S25 ultra earlier in the year. I challenged it with my credit card company and they upheld my challenge and refunded me. It’s not legal and lots on Reddit complaining about it.

Thanks for the video. Was looking at the Samsung S95f for the reflection handling as it is going in our upstairs living room, but decided on the LG G5 due to the 5 yr warranty on the screen and blacker blacks. We do most of our TV watching after hours when it is darker anyways.

Had a warranty exchange on my 5 year warranty on my lg cx to a c5 it was up nov 8. I bought the tv for the series x and ps5 but also used it with a pc which it was great. So for $300 i got a new tv im happy. I just had some dead pixels around the edges honestly you couldn’t see them from a normal viewing distance. You had to be right up on the screen to see them other than that it’s still fine.

I have a G1 and switching inputs is instant..

I had an S95D which I used for a year as a gaming TV and although the matte screen is not as bad as some people write, I still prefer a glossy screen a bit more. I don't know why Samsung is forcing people to be happy. If they gave them a choice and also released the S95F gloss, I would choose their gaming TV without a doubt, but in this case, the choice will probably fall on the G5.It's a real shame because the QD Oled panel is being wasted (unfortunately, Sony didn't go too far with the Bravia 8)

Thanks for the comparison. I'm also torn between two TVs. I use the Plex app frequently. Which TV has the most stable Plex app? Also, which TV has more detailed and user-friendly Plex app settings?

Hi Pete, love your videos. Will you be reviewing the Philips Evnia 49M2C8900L? I find the price very luring compared to the 40" Dell 4k, which I'd also love to try, but it's double the price then the Evnia (I know they're pretty different monitors). I'm primarily programming, so invisible pixels would be a plus for me.

For me the best thing LG are doing is having more variety on size. Some tvs I want 48 or 42 but the lowest they do is 55

I was still thinking of getting a Samsung, because of the matte screen, but after seeing the blacks being so dark, you can't tell what is going on, and the return costing 20% fee just killed that desire for me.

Good/timely video for me. Question: on these models is it required to have an account with Samsung/LG? I use an AppleTV and only want to be able to receive firmware updates. Really trying to reduce the glut of accounts I have and data I’m handing over.
