We are back down in Snow Hill at the shop to check on the massive rebuild progress of the Desperado crab boat. The guys have completely gutted the old fiberglass and rotten wood to make way for a totally custom composite deck and a new transmission for the Cummins engine. It looks crazy right now with the whole back of the cabin cut out, but I am super pumped to finally see this restoration ball rolling. Let me know in the comments if you guys think we should make the cabin bigger or keep it old school!

I am here for this content. I say keep the cabin the original size. You may think the deck is big now but at some point you will wish it was bigger. The boat is built to work and make money. That’s not done in the canon.

Well since Jacob Knowles' build is done I need a new boat build to follow, so here I am.

When you realize that you have spent what you would have on a new boat, that this one is yours. You know that a new boat would not have on the special heart, and soul that you put into this one. Plus you got to customize this baby to not only last longer than you, but it also has everything that you ever wanted in a boat now. Were all very happy for you, and remember that YOU EARNED THIS.

Super cool to see an old boat be brought back to life. I helped my dad build his lobster boat in middle school (kicked out of school for drinking at a school dance 😅) and it honestly was so much fun.

One day all this will disappear if people don't continue to push it out. Thank you for that!

Make the cab bigger. You will not be sorry. You’ll never have the chance again.
I know you like used,saving money upfront.
Cheaper up front, doesn’t mean cheaper in the long run.
Transmission,anything thing structural do now . It will only sting once.
Your attention to detail and the boat builder will make this a top shelf fishing vessel!
You have worked hard. It shows.
Treat yourself to the best in this build.
You will smile everyday you step on it to go crabbing!

Man, I'm so excited for you Luke!!! What a dream boat!

@MrRyanlackey 15 hours ago

I don’t know how you have the patience man. I’ve been restoring my 17’ Montauk since March and the mental and physical strain is unreal. Keep it going man and hopefully you don’t need to touch resin or fiberglass for a long long time.

Make the cabin a bit bigger if you can. You'll love it later. Also maybe you can put a MFU Screen outside somwhere near your hauler station so you can always see it and youll have no problems with seeing through the bigger cabin Luke...She's going to be amazung and lord knows you deserve every bit of it !! You got this Capt !
