THE GIFT OF PROPHECY
This quarter we will study the gift of prophecy. We will learn how God calls prophets and how we can verify their authenticity. We will see the similarities and differences between the Old Testament and New Testament prophets and gain a practical understanding of how Revelation and Inspiration worked in their lives. While some prophets communicated their messages orally, others did so in writing, although some used both methods. We will examine these and other modes of divine communication, their implications, and the blessings of obeying the messages the prophets conveyed.
God uses the gift of prophecy for five crucial purposes:
1. To reveal Himself, His truth, and His will to fallen humanity.
2. To provide information and counsel about important events and happenings.
3. To equip the body of Christ, the church, for mission.
4. To spiritually encourage His followers.
5. To make sinners aware of their spiritual reality and call them to repentance.
Furthermore, “the spirit of prophecy” is one of the two distinguishing marks of God’s remnant church in the last days (Revelation 12:17; 19:10).
Undoubtedly, this quarter’s study will be exciting and very enriching for our spiritual growth and will increase our commitment to serving the Lord.
Let’s study together these edifying topics from the Bible. We invite you to share this message from God’s Word with your friends. I invite you to subscribe to my channel, Growing in Faith, activate the notification bell, and like the video.
