You should react to all the Persona openings

Definitely need to do all the persona game openings.

Each persona game has its distinctive music genre to it I noticed.

Persona 3 had more of a hip-hop vibe to it, Persona 4 had a J-pop vibe to it and Persona 5 has lots of jazz to it

We're getting closer to the persona openings video guys

Persona 3 FES, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal are essentially just upgraded versions of the originals with added content. Persona 3 Portable was a PSP port of Person 3, and Persona 3 Reload is a remake that released more recently which is why it looks so much better visually than the other versions. As for the others like Persona Q, Strikers, Ultimax Arena and Dancing All Night/Dancing In Starlight are just side games. They're not mainline entries though I think storywise they're still considered canon.

26:30 You got that right, that is where that song plays in game.

You should definitely check out all persona openings 💯

28:05 you actually clocked in on something very interesting about persona music there. The general idea behind the music is that its supposed to just exist in the background to enhance yhe gameplay. This is why, even in the japanese versions of the games, the singers are singing in english, since your not supposed to really pay attention to the lyrics. It helps with both creating that vibe during gameplay, but also builds emotional weight for the end, as the credits song is usually one of the only songs sung in Japanese, which creates emotional dissonance, because the journey is ginally over, there is no more game to focus on, so you can take it all in.

4:11 The transition was so seamless Luke didn't even notice they were 2 different releases.

To answer your question, there are currently 5 main Persona games, multiple spin offs and 2 remakes.

Persona 1, Persona 2 (There are two versions of this as well), Persona 3 (Persona 3, Persona 3 FES, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 3 Reload), Persona 4 (Persona 4 Golden, Persona 4 Revival which is coming out next year), Persona 5 (Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5 Strikers, Persona 5 X) and Persona 6 is the newest addition that just released the teaser trailer along with Persona 4 Revival.

Persona 3 Reload is a remake of the original. Persona 4 Revival is also a remake of the original, though it's not released yet.

Then there's Persona 3 Dancing in Moonlight, Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight, Persona 4 Ultimate Arena, Persona 4 Dancing All Night, Persona Q; Shadow of the Labyrinth, Persona 5 Tactica and Persona Q2.

Not to mention all the Persona animes: Trinity Soul, P4 Anime (2 of them), P3 anime movies (4 in total), P5 Anime and I believe there are two of them.

I would like to point out that I have the anniversary collection of P3, P4 and P5 soundtracks so I don't need to stream them as much. XD Persona 3 is my childhood. The members of SEES are my childhood friends, and their OST remains top tier for me. Persona 5 only comes in second.

Ain't no way Battle Hymn of the Soul is all the way at 70. Will Power at 54????? Memories of You at 50 and the OG version at 35 is peak taste. Genuinely surprised Colours Flying High and Rivers in the Desert isn't higher. OG Mass Destruction at 12? Peak.

My favourite Persona song of all time is Memories of You and Rivers in the Desert. Our Moment is also my favourite because it's a love letter to every Persona 3 fan. The lyrics in particular is directed to us.

I know that you maybe confused of how many persona games there are, just know that the franchise has been there for 30 years

Not a single P1 or P2 track crushes my soul to tiny pieces.

Luke continuing to prove he's never played a game by being baffled at the idea that a game could just, y'know, have music playing in the background during normal gameplay AND cutscenes.

@mjaomjao2 2 months ago

A remake of Persona 4 comes out in February and all cutscenes are done by Mappa.

@lefishe5884 2 months ago

The whole gun-to-head thing is indeed how they activate their powers, but only in Persona 3 and its spinoffs/remakes. And while thematically appropriate for that game, I don't think they ever even try to give a technical explanation for why they do it lol. Every numbered game has its own cast, characters, setting (though all in Japan), and slightly different rules as to how all the supernatural stuff works.
