Oytun Erbaş was born on November 15, 1978, in Izmir. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Izmir.
In 2001, he graduated second in his class from Ege University Faculty of Medicine.
Between 2001 and 2012, he worked as a research assistant in the departments of internal medicine, radiology, physiology, experimental medicine, and neuroscience.
In May 2018, he was appointed Associate Professor in Physiology and Experimental Medicine, and in 2023, he became a Full Professor.
He introduced new agents to the literature for autism treatment. Inflammation and behavior, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome are his other fields of research.
He is the founder of the laboratories "EXPERIMENTAL MEDICINE" and "CEPHALINK". He is the editor of the journal JEBMS.
