I think that the amount of responses that are real people are probably less than we fear, but also more than we'd hope.

Last week my mom sent me a clearly AI video on Facebook asking me if it was real.
So no they're not all bots 💀

Polydactyly (multiple digits on the hands/feet) apparently has a rate of occurrence of ~0.1%–0.01% (one in every 1,000 to 10,000 births), meaning it's the most common of birth defects that affects hands/feet.

Oftentimes those children will have surgery when they're around 2 years old to remove additional digits, so that those digits don't cause pain (which is common), so things like gloves & shoes fit easily, and also so they're not bullied for it in school as they grow up.

That means that it's FAR less common to see in children & adults than 0.01% of the time. So, while it's not a guarantee that seeing someone polydactyly means an image is AI generated, it's VASTLY more probable, which means it serves as an easy red flag to verify other details of the image for legitimacy, which can usually be spotted pretty quickly.

These are always like a spot the difference puzzle, but the best way I've learned to spot AI is does it have the sheen? AI art always has a plasticky look, especially the "realistic" stuff and this weird gloss to it

SHE'S MAKING CATSUP

One of my nephews was born with four fingers on one hand. I wonder if people eventually think pictures of him are AI-generated. xD

Although most AI generated photos seem to have additional fingers/arms/legs instead of less.

My dad falls for ai images all the time. Me and my mom have given up on trying to convince him that it's not real. The most he'll say is that it was touched up in Photoshop

One of my favorite concepts is the “dead internet theory” because every day I live AI gets more self interactive and we sprint closer to the theory being viable 😂

I think one of the dumbest/most frustrating things about this is the fact that the caption for the image at 3:23 is probably just the prompt that was put into an AI to generate the image.

Who here remembers the 90's time of the fake pop-up on AOL for free BK burgers and the you instantly win $$$$

This stuff is like that

0:09 Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr! ❤

Eventually we might get AI accounts pointing out "AI flaws" in human-made artworks, but who knows?

Thank you, Matt Rose reactions are always so hilarious! XD

11:24 I wonder how many of these are just people who know it’s AI but are just playing along?

2:50. Not being the apple-strawberry things I would fail for it...

Edit: Something wierd is going with left hand...

Merry christmas to the cutest cow 🙂

Is that a new form of pencil 😂

Being born with extra fingers is called polydactyly, in European countries having an extra pinky is most common, while in Africa having an extra thumb is. It effects between 4-12 per 10,000 people. Which isn't super common but they are out there.  Which is probably why you can't just program an AI to never do it. They have to have non-standerd hands in their data set.

3:28 your reaction! 😆

Society: AI will take over the world
Also society: Can't tell whether it's AI or real art.
